Scart connections between TV, Digibox, DVD player & PC PVR?
Hi Folks,
I'm getting a video recorder card for my PC. My TV, VCR, Digibox and DVD player are all connected using scart cables and I'm pretty happy that I understand how they are all connected. However, I'm confused by the fact that some scart connections are only single-direction, and some are bi-directional (in & out). My video capture card has both s-video input and separate s-video output. Is it possible to connect the PC using one scart cable for both input and output signals (obviously, converted to s-video at the PC end)? i.e. I want the signal to come from the Digibox to the PC for recording, and then from the PC to the TV for playback in one cable. Do scart cables carry all 3 video signals? i.e. s-video & composite & component? If so, how does your TV know which signal to use? or do you specifically get a scart cable that only carries s-video, or one that only carries composite, etc.? Also, any info on bi-directional scart cables would be appreciated. Thanks, Andy_C |
