Corrie - "Stormy weather ahead" Literally?
Pyramidbread
06-10-2012
So yesterday's Corrie press released had the title "stormy weather ahead" along with @itvcorrie using #stormyweather, right? I saw some other tweets that made me think it might be more than just 'soap speak'

One of the people behind the scenes was tweeting about special effects, something about water and special effects company Quicksilver was mentioned, and guess what their big thing is? Weather(The same company also did the snow for the street last year). I can't imagine them getting a company in just to do a bit of rain for a few scenes either

The don't need a company to do a bit of rain - it's Manchester, so they just have to wait a day or two and it will rain for real.

I can picture it now.

Dierdre is settling down to watch The X Factor. The wind is howling, rain battering the windows. Before you can finish saying "flippin' eck", a bolt of lighting strikes and the signal on the TV cuts out. Dierdre furiously slaps the remote, refusing to miss her weekly fix of Gary Barlow. After a lengthy struggle, she concedes defeat. This challenge can only be overcome by one famous Street resident. Taking a longing gaze at the now black television screen, she takes a deep breath and shouts to the heavens/up the stairs.

"Ken, do something!"

Haha, that would be awesome xD

I was thinking more along the lines of an Emmerdale sort of storm though, rather than a real storm xD

Imagine how frustrating it would be if he went to change the battery and... no AAs.

No, surely not Gary Barlow. He's a manc. He must be a relation. Another of Ken's long-lost kids?

I think storms work well on Home & Away and Emmerdale given their locations but I'm not sure about Corrie!

It wouldn't surprise me if Gary Barlow was another of Ken's long lost/illegitimate sons

It could be a great SL, stormy weather, people trapped in houses, cars, things collapsing everywhere. Maybe it could trigger some sort of electircal fire or even just something like this:

Gloria is really desperate to win pub of the year, but her plans uncover serious damage with the building itself, but behind Stella's back she gets it done cheap and dodgy- the storm hits, devastation everywhere and people huddle together and hang out in the supposed safety of the pub. Then as the storm takes hold the roof collapses, people are hurt but nothing serious, just as they turn for the door, a strike of lightning and the whole place collapses to a pile of debris.

RIP Aiden, Jenna, Rob and then someone big

I reckon it would be ace. Infact a tornado should hit the street. It would be a good way to get rid of Sunita, Karl and a few others.

On a serious note myself, it sounds a bit too similar to the tram crash.
