At least she doesn't say "You was great".

Her "yah" belongs on South Park, along with "okoy".

I really like her, think she's a great addition to the show

Um no actually. It's London not American. Not good with accents are you?

Or class, for that matter

I didn’t bother to watch last year’s series but after watching lst night and today I am looking forward to ‘coming back’ to Strictly. And the reason being that Darcey is a great addition to the judges’ panel. I look forward to her advice and fabulous outfits! She is adorable, yah!

I agree with all points. The panel as a whole is working well. She needs to lose the yahs, but I expect Darcey will self critique and improve - not whine about everyone being horrible to her.

Think Darcey is a fabulous breath of fresh air and the 'yah' tic was much less noticeable tonight. Great to listen to someone who actually has something meaningful to say - it's quite a novelty! Hopefully some of her down to earth approach will rub off on the other judges.

She has done extremely well on her debut weekend in comparison to Alesha who was seeking advice and approval from Bruno for the scores she was giving.

Alesha - who?

Not good with reading, are you?

I never believed or implied that she's American. Just that her yah is as annoying as, and belongs in the same class as, South Park's incessant 'okoooy'. The only other time I've heard one word pronounced consistently in such an annoying way, or used at the end of every sentence, is in cartoon satire.

We must not forget that Strictly has had its most popular series with Alesha as a judge.
Darcey is like chalk and cheese to what went before and it will obviously take time to get bedded in and develop her own panel personality.
Last night she yahed to much, talked too much and arguably sounded like a posh text book. Tonight was much better and the show was tremendous.

2010 & 2011 weren't popular because of Alesha.

For everything she's achieved in her life Darcy is remarkably down to earth. As a critic who can pinpoint issues with technique AND suggest a solution she is the best female judge yet. I can understand how her "yahs" could irritate some, probably those same people that had stereotyped and pre-judged Lisa, but it was probably nerves as she hadn't done this in her previous appearances. I see her as witty, knowlegable and sexy-as-heck. Just a personal opinion, and as valid as anyone elses.

Being annoyed by a vocal tic has absolutely nothing whatsoever with stereotyping and pre-judging people.

I LOVE Darcey, tonight she was noticeably more relaxed and her fun side is emerging. She is a thoroughbred racehorse compared with Alesha's uh, seaside donkey? *dodges flak*

Thats a rather sweeping statement. Alesha has her fans, and by the end of her stay I cant say her lack of technical knowledge bothered me.

She certainly did not put people off watching, thats for sure.

Alesha had her faults, but she never pretended to be an expert. She judged mainl;y from an entertainment point of view. She gave advice based on her experience as a performer in the entertainment industry, and yes at time gave some advice on technique from her experience as a contestant and deserving champion,

Darcy is being pretenious and trying to critque as if she has done ballroom/latin all her life and is an expert in the field.......which she clearly isnt.

Are people STILL going on about Karen Hardy?
What makes you think she was ever in the running or even interested?

When she was a guest judge, I thought Darcey added little to the programme, but I have revised my opinion of her.
A breath of fresh air - I think she is going to be great

I can remember where I seen it, but am pretty sure Karen publically announced her interest in being a judge (possiblt on It Take Two), and Im sure she was in the running at one point according to the media. but again Im not 100%. but she did seem to be the most logical choice actually.

And sure it stands to reason that she would be interested as she is involved in the It Takes Two Show having her own judge/critique section and does the Red button commentary.

It's nice to hear someone give the celebrities some very practical advice on improving their faults, and the advice seems very sound, but her delivery and vocal style drive me mad.

As well as the constantly repeated "yar" (already mentioned) and "OK?" , the rise at the end of EVERY sentence is so irritating! I've heard her speak in an informal setting and she isn't half as "mannered" - in fact, I don't remember her speaking like that when she guested last series.

Unfortunately, I find her delivery rather boring, but if she would only speak a bit faster and drop the irritating bits, I think she could fit into the show very well. She certainly seems determined to give the celeb. dancers a lot of encouragement.

Do you mean Darcey and Alesha?

I think Darcey is great, a brilliant addition to the show and now the best judge on the panel with her great helpful comments.

Why do you think Alesha was better?

Darcey knows something about dancing and is already way better than Alesha [e.g. no joke marking for a start] .

Yes, well you have said that shouldn't you in the first place. But you didn't. Clarity is everything if you want people to understand the point you are supposedly making?
