I loved it. She did lots out of hold, had great expression, the whole routine was fun and fast. I think she deserved an 8, as it was the only one I wanted to watch again ... in fact I've seen it 3 more times on iplayer now!

Totally agree, I just watched it now and loved it, had a smile on my face the whole way through it and she had good movement and used her feet well.

Because it's inconceivable for some that those coat hangers could do worse than she did. Take Ton and Jerry as an example. A lot of posing and posturing, dancing minimal.

I felt she was over-marked and it was almost because she is so overweight.

Like the judges were over-compensating to make sure they weren't seen to be discriminating because of her size.

Ultimately, she was enthusiastic but nowhere near as good as Kimberley.
No logic there... were they generous to previous fatties like Russell Grant & Widdy?

She had the most charismatic dance of the night IMO, if technically flawed. A lot of them were unenthusiastic, but she had bags of energy.

(I dont think she will be v good at ballroom tbh)

She was brilliant. She threw everything she had into that routine & Artem was rightly proud of her.
I said elsewhere,I knew she'd go for it,but thought the technique would suffer. Not a bit of it,her timing was really good with just a few little offs and her footwork was fantastic, especially considering her weight. I'm looking forward to watching her next time.

Actually I thought she was having the most fun with the routine and she had the most purpose with it as well. Yeah I can actually see Lisa being good at ballroom too as her and Robin have so much trust in each other. In actual fact I was turned on by Lisa and her outfit. She looked very sexy indeed, mind you Kimberley and Pasha were decent too. All in all these two ladies did themselves proud.

Her foot movement was better than the superfit and slimmer ladies that have gone before her.
Her feet were lovely - she got the "using the floor" off to a tee! It was also very entertaining.

It was Robin who was Lisa's partner!

I think Robin was especially pleased. It looked to me like he was welling up when they were talking to Tess.

My only worry for Lisa is where can she go from here. Will we be expecting a very high standard from her every week .

Me too - and I already did!
She danced well, that's what points are given for, she earnt them.
No one gets more points depending on the weight they're carrying.
She had lots of energy for a 'big boned' woman.

I didn't expect that at all.
No, it was not cause she was fat.

Lisa's was the best performance in general this week. Simple as that for me.

I do think 30 was a bit high, but they have to base the scores on whats gone before so an 8 might seem high but if they thought she turned out better than someone they gave a 7 to, and 8 it is.

Lisa had decent technique. not the best but she was up there. And her musicality and personality was great. A born performer it seems.
That was up there with Austin's jive for me in just making me smile. It was brilliant entertainment after so much angst and nerves.

Agree totally with all the above - and many more of the positive posts.

I know this has been said many times before (every year SCD has been on in fact) but the show is billed as entertainment. It is not solely a masterclass in learning to dance. Given there are the two sides to it, dancing and viewer entertainment, I reckon Lisa nailed it in her first dance.

Know what, there is so much doom and gloom about, it is lovely to be surprised by a bouncy, fun dancer who obviously enjoyed herself. Maybe she can keep the 2012 spirit going.

Well, she surprised us this week. Who is to say she can't surprise us next week too?

As other FMs have recommended, I watched Lisa & Robin again a few minutes ago. It really is better second time around, cos I can be more critical and look at the detail which I didn't see first time as I was so surprised.

Her dance steps are as good as anyone else's; she doesn't look at her feet; when her and Robin are dancing feet away from each other, she doesn't look at him, and for the most part stays in sync; her face is full of enjoyment; her whole routine is full of energy; the judges (seen in the background) were clearly enjoying it tremendously.

On reflection, I think it deserved the high score.

I actually laughed out loud at Lisa's performance, it did have that wow factor, loved every minute of it.

It was great to see her loving every minute and it seemed her enthusiasm was infectious.

Very entertaining.

I think all the comments about Lisa's weight & using this as an excuse for why she rec'd good marks are totally unfair.

Yes Lisa is overweight, but so are some of the other celebrities, lets remember we've had overweight celebrities in the past who haven't had high score 'because they're fat'.

Lisa & Robin's performance was very good, they both looked like they were enjoying themselves, Lisa didn't look stressed, worried, it was a good dance.

This is the first week it could all change.

i cant remember the exact comment but when bruce interviewed her she referred to her 'bap baps'

absolutely brilliant dance - has obviously taken training a lot more seriously than others, has natural rhythm and i'm wondering if because she's good at remembering lines she's also good at remembering steps.

her and colin are my favourites at the moment

her weight has nothing to do with it - look at Jerry thin as a stick and couldnt get a move of a hip action out of her ....too much thinking if she looked alright for the camera - whilst Lisa was like - ok i am here to dance give a go and do my best whatever it takes - i think confidence is what made her give us that performance

Well done Lisa!!!!

It does have a certain charm that being her size she moves the way she does. If Jerry did the same she'd look demented. But I do wonder about Ton and Jerry. Can't he make all those celeb partners dance/move a bit more, is he covering his own deficiences, or what is the problem?

Thinking more about the above post, MsSunshine has an excellent point.

If people think Lisa was marked up because she is fat, conversely was Jerry marked down because she is stick thin? No, they were both marked on their performance. Their size didn't come into it.
