Mrs F you're right that back in yester-year the VW would have normally been done around Week 5. I guess it makes sense to do it earlier since we're always told it only has three steps in it.

I dont remember VW ever being this early either but Im glad as this will only be Flavia's 2nd VW on Strictly (with a celeb) and she is so good at them.

Dan & Katya and Alex & James did it in Week 3 last year, I think that was the earliest until now.

I think it was a couple of years ago that they decided that each couple had to do a ballroom and a latin before the first elimination. Obviously much fairer than before when celebs found themselves going out after only one dance - it's good we get a chance to see them at both styles first.

You're right in that they did change it so the 1st elimination wasn't after the very first dance. However last year Holly and Russell danced the Cha Cha Cha and then Salsa. The rest did one of each though. Am just glad that this year EVERYONE is doing the opposite style.

How come? I doubt that as anyone can go in first elimination as its so random.

It's not great (imo) that they've added a few more dances in but i guess it's not as bad as it could've been. Very glad there are no Tangos yet.

When do we find out the music as that is the next exciting part for me

James has just said that Denise has hurt her neck in training and they are off to the physio - wonder if the Jive will have to be amended for Saturday...

Good to see 3 of the weakest so far Jerry,Johnny and Victoria all doing the same dance so we can easily compare .
