I think the general consensus is that the dance was a mess - but the first third or so showed she had real potential. And I think she got the biggest cheer of the introductions tonight. We'll have to wait and see what next week brings but I'm pretty sure she'll get voted through - she's clearly emotionally fragile and the public will (rightly) sympathise.
Sympathising with her may seem right, but voting her through because of that sympathy wont be right at all. IF the state she was in is a sign of things to come, sympathy votes that keep her in will actually be a little cruel, IMO.

In that case, they should let her leave sooner rather than later so she can actually enjoy the show, even as a viewer.

I don't disagree with that. But the public will already be sympathising with her now and doubtless we'll see the immediate aftermath of her memory blank on ITT and the VT next week to bolster it. And I think she'll be one of the last names on next week as there's anticipation about whether she can improve on what we saw before what happened, happened - fresh in the minds of the voters. And there is good reason for her to have public support even putting that aside, of course.

If, as you say, the state she was in is a sign of things to come, then I think the voters will eventually do that. But this all rather depends on the next dances.

It will not be Brendan's fault either, it seems it was a mistake that put her off and then nerves. Brendan has been tweeting a lot tonight and said they had four perfect run-throughs in the reheasals at the studios - he seems to be very supportive and extremely proud of her, which should help - that and a ballroom dance next week showing improvement will hopefully keep her in:

Thanks Liz. It could just be a case of first night nerves. I'm sure she'll do better next week with the ballroom . Once she gets a decent dance out of the way, plus some praise, I'm sure her confidence will return.

No way on Earth will Victoria go first. She is too big a star IMO.

Even if she is bottom of the leaderboard.

Johnny will be the first celeb out or Jerry.

She will improve. I agree that an Olympian won't be off first. I think it will be Johnny.

I think its unlikely, but if she does go there will only be one person to blame and its not her.
Seriously... Change the record... especially when you are just jelous of the man..

I don't think she's in any danger whatsoever. The Olympic buzz would probably have saved any athlete, let alone an athlete who was probably in the top 5 most featured of all Team GB this Summer.

I do hope not, not for her but for Brendan. He thought he had hot the jackpot with he but it has backfired, shame I hope he can make a dancer out of her.

Johnny should go. They really shouldn't sign up real oldies they just don't have it.

Her dance was a mess but I think that the Ego that is Brendan Cole gave her FAR too much content for a first dance. But he needed to shine & assumed she would be OK with it. I was really annoyed at him .....all those twirls & promenades in those killer heels were just ridiculous. He was virtually just throwing her around because her arms froze stiff from nerves . The poor girl was traumatised.I can't see her recovering from this to be honest. Such a knock-back so early will demolish her confidence.
It's not like the cycling where it was in her blood & she had goals (the Olympics etc). This is just a dance contest & frankly I can see her claiming injury to opt out. I would if I had Brendan on my case day after day push push pushing.

Don't think that her or Johnny will be voted off to be honest as Johnny will get the older persons vote and Victoria will probably have the olympians keeping her in. The celebs who I think are really in danger IMHO are Jerry and Fern. Artem is very unlucky this year but I think if Fern is against Jerry in the dance off I think that Fern will get her act together and dance better.

Not a cat in hell's chance of Victoria being voted off - it will probably be someone like Richard an average dancer whom I suspect the public couldn't give a stuff for.

I felt really sorry for her and hoped it was just first dance nerves. However, if she keeps messing up she won't last - there are some excellent dancers this year (Colin, Denise, Kimberley) and she needs to keep her nerve to match them.

She may be the worst dancer (and I'm pretty sure she will be) but voted off first? No chance.

Part of the reason I watch is morbid fascination - Tess' dresses, James' tantrums. Victoria's flakiness is very watchable so I'm for keeping her in even if she is a plank.

I am in the category of "older person" and NO WAY would I vote to keep Johnny Ball in

Was embarrassed to watch his efforts.

Would certainly hope he is first out of the show.

Hopefully Victoria will gain confidence if Brendan gives her a simpler dance, and if its ballroom they could be much much better with her in hold.

She might have enough Olympic momentum to carry her out of the bottom 2 with the public...but unless she improves fast...and with the "dance off" format she could be out very soon.

It was too good was it ? I think she was a bit under-marked,18 - 20 would have been about right. From this thread it is clear that most people want to see her do well and make excuses for her, which is also my mindset. I think I will vote for her for a few weeks even if she isn't getting anywhere but after a month or so I think I, and most other people, will get realistic and not vote fro her if she really isn't showing any signs of becoming a dancer.

I really like her. She's the one i'm most interested in seeing the progression of (Lisa too).

I agree with you about both of them

Look, there are thousands of us who would crawl over broken glass to get the chance she has got. She's getting paid to have the time of her life. Brendan is fabulous and she is just a blubbing Princess.

If she forgets her routine again next week, I think there is a danger she could be out, yes. Sympathy will only stretch so far. I hope she manages to complete a routine though, because of the 5 seconds or so she did get right, I didn't think she looked half bad!

Hopefully! She messed up but still i dont see the potential with this girl - to be a good dancer or to be entertaining. She doesn't look like she's having fun. I hope her or Vaughan are out first

Exactly! I feel for Victoria, but at the end of the day, she needs to get a grip and some perspective. Olympian or not, the public will soon tire of her if she keeps going into melt-down.

Incidentally, I can't help thinking that there is a real double standard going on here. People are going out of their way to defend Victoria for behavior they would criticise other contestants for. Something tells me that if Denise had been the one having a melt-down, the response on here would have been different. As I said at the beginning of this post, I feel for Victoria, but I don't think she should be absolved of blame or responsibility for what happened.

You mean Peole geerally like Victoria but not Denise - guess that's true. I also think that because people who have followed Victoria's career know that she's a vulnerable & emotional person so what she did wasn't particularly shocking or out of charachter.

Yes, it's possible but it would be a pity. When they get a ballroom dance, which is Brendan's special strength, things should go better.
