Just reserved I think. He likes Bob Marley so I think he is an introspective type.

it a tough one this because...

He was actually one of our stand out Olympians. Came from nowhere to grab the publics attention. He inspired by very 'boyish' 8 year old to want to try gymnastics. He showed emotion and had the nation behind him...

Then he goes on SCD and is just 'flat' and way too serious.

I loved him from the Olympics and wanted him to be brilliant, and whilst technically I think he will do well, but just doesn't have much warmth or personality (mind you niether does VP to some extent).

I really hope, he comes out of his shell, loses the dry, serious side of his nature and loosens up.

If not, he wont win, and he really could!

Nope. There is introspective and then there is the walking dead.

Just because someone isn't gurninng like a manic possessed doesn't mean they are emotionally sterile. There is such a thing as subtlety and I think it is refreshing to see someone who holds back a little on the emotional leakage.

I would be the last person to encourage gurning. I still have flashbacks to Chris Hollins. It is not good. But a huge part of dancing is emotional conection. I see none between Louis and Flavia and certainly none reaches me as a viewer. It was very flat and one dimensional.

I am reserving judgment until ITT but I have a horrible feeling he is going to have no personality.

I think that he will loosen up in time, he has the musical connection and self awareness, he just needs to learn to trust.

I think he could be good .. if he works on those awkward hip movements and his arms and his feet and his face.

Oh and his hair. I think him and Pasha have suffered through the same ghastly attack on their hair and it needs to be sorted out pronto.

They're going to send him for Gethin acting classes aren't they?

I think he could do ballroom brilliantly and that slightly haughty look that he has could work brilliantly for a lot of the ballrooms.

He just needs to up the cheese in the Latin, or at least try touching Flavia outside of the 90 second dance.

I guess in his line of work emotion is weakness, but he's going to have to loosen up, but Flavia's the pro, what's her excuse? It's her job to relax him and get the emotional aspect in there, but there's a long way to go.

I think Flavia works better with extroverted people (like Russell and Jimi). She's not the type of person to bring someone else out of their shell. That's not a criticism of Flavia by the way, I like her just the way she is, but it's a criticism of whoever was in charge of pairing up the couples. They needed someone outgoing for Louis to compensate for his shyness & seriousness (that's why the Karen/Ramps relationship worked so well).

Still, it's early days. Things might change once they get to know each other and become more relaxed in one another's company. But it will take them longer to connect. There's no instant chemistry there.

Oh I totally agree Sid. We all knew that partnership was a dis-ah-ster when they walked off the dancefloor, so why didn't the producers?

But I guess in the long run, it could be a good thing, he needs a journey as much as any other front runner or people are not going to appreciate how far he's come and take it for granted, so at least he has areas to improve on and they're relatively easy to put right.

It may be he's just relatively bad at the cheesy dances - cha cha/salsa/samba and he might be great at the intense - rumba/tango/AT.

Not feeling the love.

Most of his dance was just him fluffing about and not really doing much. And hiding behind tricks to cover up his mediocre ability, if u ask me.

I think he could do a great tango sneer. I hope he's a slow burner, they're the most fun to watch.

It could prove to be an advantage. It always helps to have some sort of handicap to overcome on Strictly. If these two can connect at just the right time (like Gethin & Camilla did) then they could easily go all the way

He had good hip movement, kept up with a fast, content filled routine and made no mistakes.

He has long arms, so black sleeves will help. The drainpipe trousers made his bum look big, so trousers will also help his look. A different hairstyle will help too.

I hope the retraining order expires soon so he can get within 20cm of Flavia for the next Samba rolls.

He could be good but don't think Flavia likes him? The only couple not to hold hands or make any physical contact when they came off stage. They won't get far.

She is a strange woman.

I picked that up. I don't think Flavia likes him which is a pity as this could be her chance for the title. I think it's a straight contest between him and Denise.

I think he has potential. I find them the most interesting couple because there is that reserved aspect to their partnership. To me he comes across as a nice but v quiet guy and unfortunately that doesn't translate we'll on sat night tv. People seem to want a Lisa rather than a Louis

I thought that Denise Van Outen was the worst one of the night emotionally.

Now don't get me wrong, I like her and she did do emotion but it was a stuck on plastic showbiz big smile all throughout the entire thing. So no real emotion shown at all.

Would we want Louis to do that? At least he is what he portrays a straight laced sensible bloke showing exactly what he is instead of pasting on a fake emotion.

So he doesn't do emotion?

I thought the body language from Flavia looked like she could not stand to be in the same room as him for more than 3 minutes.

I think it's Flavia doing that not just him.

Yes I noticed that, she ran upstairs well ahead of him. I think she doesn't want to touch another partner outside of routine in case( with her record) she falls for them
