I just had an email read out on Radio 1!

I said:

"I think Creep could be a good choice for G4 tomorrow
night, they did a great version of it in the early
auditions. People need to give it a chance rather than
deciding it'll be bad before they've even heard it."

Since everyone on Radio 1 has been slagging them off for choosing that song.

Louis Walsh is on in a minute, if anyone cares.

Well done! Did they comment on what you said?

They may well get a suprise when they hear 'Creep', they shouldn't write it off just yet....

It is a surprise, I think it must have been one of the few positive comments they received on the subject

Many people have strong reservations about the lads covering such a well liked track.

thing is Jaz, it may be a well liked track in some circles but I doubt they would be the people who are voting on Saturday anyway. Judging by the comments on this forum, lots of people have never heard of the track.

We are back to radio 1 snobbery again methinks.

Yeah I think you're right, there seems to be lack of vision among those at Radio 1 with the view that "G4 are doing a Radiohead song; it's going to be terrible."

Louis said on the show that they'll be bringing the song to a whole new audience, and he's right. Fans of Radiohead hold the song in very high regard, and are understandably unsure of how G4's version will come out. But it'll no doubt appeal to the many who have never heard it before, and hopefully tomorrow's performance will bring round a few Radiohead fans as well.

Thing is Jaz at least they've got the guts to have a go

Yeah I know, it's a brave song choice. Straight away I saw it as the riskiest of the three songs for the final. But it's a great mix and if they pull off all three, it'll be a stunning spectacle
