I keep seeing her saluting on the TV, I was wondering if she has been in the forces or maybe they kicked her out too.

I also wonder if the rumours are true that she has never sung live in the whole of her solo career, my uncle says she reminds him of that bird on the Gene Kelly film with the screachy voice, in 'Switch-a-Roo' 'Singin' In The Rain'

I wonder who the voice is behind Cheryl Cole.

Saw him again on The One Show last week and he would be great.

I'd rather hear Jeff Lynn doing ' Wild West Hero' than see Cheryl Cole.

The Beach 'Boys' were on the Jools Holland Show the other week. Some great music though. I'd love to see them on SCD.

That reminds me, I want to download the show they did for R2. I was howling along when it was on the other week (they did 51 songs! )

The Beach Boys would be a real coup for the show - can't see it happening though.

If they want plenty of publicity - I'm hopeful that they'd be on. They could do a medley !

It is nice to end the night on a cheery note with a bit of classic nostalgia.

The Beach Boys would be fabulous on Strictly.

Neil Sedaka is in town and was on Jools Holland if that was a current show, if the strictly producers had any sense they would kick Cheryl into touch and try to get some real talent with Neil.

Personally I don't think Neil Sedaka is anything like he used to be and I'd rather remember him at his best.

The Beach Boys don't need publicity - they are way too successful right now (and before). I'd love it though and will keep my fingers crossed. That would be one show that would blast the ratings war with the X Factor out of the water.

Cheryl Cole I couldn't care less about, but no doubt she'll pull in viewers and the BBC will help her stick two fingers up at Simon Cowell.

And at 64 he's still got a fantastic voice.

I wonder if the BBC have approached him - he's busy promoting the ELO remasters, so maybe he's a possibility?

I agree, excellent start to the new series. After grumbling about the marking for several years it was great to see the judges being more realistic..apart from Craig's 8, he must have been carried away in the excitement.
My only gripe was the missing a few of the judges comments on Friday. They were running short of time, but Brucie still insisted on getting in a few of his long-winded jokes, and that stupid James Bond drinks on a tray bit. I don't mind the fun bits, but not at the expense of hearing what the judges have to say.

Sir Bruce just had a touch of first night nerves, the judges were over the top, but I loved Jerry's glamour.
