what a difference between them too - even personality wise or is it just me?

i find Karen very show off and in your face while Yveta was more soft and tender

hopefully Aliona will be back (although i dont like her personality she dances very well) and keep Yveta but get rid of Karen please!

Bit early to judge after one weekend surely - I think people should be given time to bed in !

Having watched both on SYTYCD I must say I would have preferred Iveta to have been the -permanent dancer, she came across as having a more endearing personality and I thought she was a better dancer.

I thought Iveta was very sweet. We'll see how Karen progresses, but I wasn't that taken by her on Friday - still bemused by the lift (even though the dance would still have been dire without it), hands-in-pockets stuff and her "whatever it takes to win" comment.

Iveta comes across as having far more personality, she would be a good addition to the professionals.

It's far too soon to judge either one - and actually unfair to do so.

Both are fabulous dancers, but I think Karen is more stylish and will shine in Latin as so few others manage to do. Natalie is the exception. She is the only one so far who has ever understood what salsa really is.

Karen will get a lot of snide comments I suspect, not because she cannot dance or teach, but because she is the most exotic dancer they have ever had and views of what an SCD dancer should be are frankly a bit narrow and frequently xenophobic over here.

Which is a pity - because she is both beautiful and supremely talented. She's not a mambo champion for nothing!

Karen and nicky are kinda hott together... and aliona is a sweetie

I was very impressed by Iveta Lukosiute - she has a beautiful slim figure, a dainty style, and seems to be about 18 years old. Much as I like Aliona, I hope Iveta is with us for a long time and perhaps next year she will be permanent.

Karen is a cougar. I am not keen on her. Much prefer Iveta. I am not an Aliona fan, but I would keep Aliona and Iveta and drop Karen.

And you reason for thinking this is what exactly? Just curious, since it is unlikely that you actually know her personally.

It's too early to say but I did like the look of Iveta.

I say give them a chance to settle in. Remember how unpopular Natalie was to begin with? Now she's a lot of people's favourite female pro.

And if Karen & Yveta are very different personality-wise, surely that's a GOOD thing? I don't want a bunch of pros who are all clones of one another. How boring. I welcome some individuality. Variety's the spice of life!

Karen comes across as a lovely girl on Twitter and I also like her more exotic look. I can understand her wanting to create a strong impression, but I think it's fair to say her Waltz was too showy. Sometimes simple works best. She's been given a dressing down by the judges though - let's see how she responds with her next Ballroom dance.

As for Iveta, I thought she was utterly charming and adorable. And in some ways she had an even tougher job than Karen because she stepped in at the very last minute.

So far, from the little we've seen, I like them both....do we need one of them to be a villain?

Karen looked great dancing with Artem in the pro-dance and looks like she has a naughty, devil-may-care side which could be fun, (but I'm convinced the lift was a deliberate set-up ). Iveta looked terrified on Friday night (and who could blame her), but she came across as a total sweetheart with Johnny on Saturday. I hope we get the chance to see her do her stuff at some point

Its too early to tell really but my first impressions were that Iveta sparkled whereas Karen was a bit meh. But then its only the first week so .....................

Yes, I'd like to know that too. Why is Karen being crucified already. I admit I wasn't too keen on the arm punch and she did come accross as a tad competitive, which I have said in an earlier post. HOWEVER folk are just being ridiculous in their condemnation of her based soley on one dance. I hope herself and Nicky go on further in the show, I like him and hope Karen is a good teacher, moreover it's actually nice to have someone from the US or South America on the show.

Iveta Atisho sparked for me as well.
In the opening number Karen danced quite badly, bent knees and out of tme.
They are both under a lot of pressure and people do make up their minds quickly with TV. Yes that might be unfair but its the way it goes, both dancers know this and understand they have to stamp there own personality into the public concious in a positive way quickly
Iveta says Thankyou for the opportunity, congratulates Johnny and copies Aliona's hair so so sweet
Karen ignore sthe rules, does not give Nicky much training and is brashly competetative.
Even being cynical I can tell who has done their homework on the British audience

Karen is a fantastic dancer, her and Artem together look amazing. I hope she gets a chance to show that over the coming weeks.

As a partner/teacher for a celeb though, I think it's too early to say. But I'm not sure that she's off to the best start.

That was it. Iveta looked scared in herself but what she gave out was generous and cuddly, huggable, luvverly. That's the kind of resilience I'd love to have. Would love to keep her. Not to get rid of anyone... Just if there is ever natural shrinkage...

Not agin Karen either. She simply hasn't quite struck me yet.
