Does Nicky still have fans in the UK? I actually think he is one of the main contenders for the chop. Irrespective of how good/bad his dancing prowess is, the public seem to have taken against Karen, which esentially means him going pretty pronto. I feel sorry for him (and I'm not a fan)

Where are all these posts praising Victoria's dancing ? I've not seen one, perhaps you could tell me which thread they are on. There are plenty of posts defending her character after your unjustified criticism on several other threads but no-one has praised her dancing.

With regard to the OP's question, I think it may well be Johnny who is first out. He may not be as well known to the younger voters as some of the others.

And other people are entitled to express their opinion if they disagree with yours. It's not necessary to describe them as "not allowing others to describe her dancing as other than gold level standard" when no-one has ever said that or have even praised her dancing on Saturday.

You seemed to be getting a tad aggressive on another thread about Victoria. People don't like unnecessary/unfair criticism.

That said, of course, this isn't X Factor and does have a significantly older watching demographic, most of whom I don't think will have any trouble remembering Johnny. At 32 I certainly don't and I think I'm on the younger end of the audience spectrum

I predict a fair bit of 'mark manipulation' to keep some of the mid-carders safe this week, including Denise and Dani - although both of them should do a better Latin than ballroom.

I reckon Michael and Richard will be the ones facing the high jump unless they pull off something amazing because they're just too mid-card to pull either rabid amounts of fans or sympathy votes.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and if Victoria gets round without falling flat on her face she'll be overmarked by at least 3 points

Theres actually nobody that I really "want" to go but Id make a guess at the bottom 2 being Johnny Ball and Jerry Hall with Johnny going. I would say Richard Arnold isnt definately safe but I think he will be saved imo.

Agreed. So much more suspenseful when its not obvious

He'd be my pick too

Absolutely. It makes me more inclined not to look at the result spoiler thread either - especially with the dance off being back.

He can't dance for one, and although I can remember him when I was little, he's been off our mainstream screens for quite some time.”

I think he's remembered very affectionately by people of a certain age (which includes me).. but whether that translates into votes is another matter. It should be enough to survive for a couple of weeks, in my opinion..plus, he wasn't exactly terrible, was he ?

I find this really difficult actually because there wasnt a single one who I thought was terrible this year. Usually theres 1 or 2 or even 3 that you wouldnt miss but I feel really torn over all of them. I cant really put my finger on an individual and say that they deserve to go

Westlife were always inexplicably popular. Although I can't stand their music Nicky seems nice enough & I suspect he has enough fans to avoid an early exit.

No, I agree. It's one of the things I'm really pleased about, there doesn't appear to be any "joke" contestants this year. I suppose Jerry was the closest, she did a lot of "posing". But even there you could see there was room for improvement if Anton is prepared to take it seriously. Johnny wasn't very good, but he tried hard..and it was the same with a few others.

The bookies seem to think it will be between Johnny, Richard, Jerry and Fern.

I think Johnny will be safe this week. It's very hard to call

Johnny, Fern and Jerry were the weakest if you ignore the fact that Victoria forgot her routine! If she forgets again she might find herself out, even though I think she's got the potential to do well.

My money's on Jerry to be first out simply because she doesn't seem to be trying. That never seems to go down well. Next out may well be Fern. I think Johnny will last until week 4 or 5. I hope Victoria does better in her next dance. I wouldn't want her to go just yet because I like Brendan.

I wonder where they get their information from

I'd like to see Richard and Fern for a bit longer, so hope it's not either of them

*ponders* surely it's going to depend on where people are on the leaderboard? must influence it

People who are saying it'll be a mid-table boot are probably barking up the wrong tree. First boots are almost always someone right at the bottom of the leaderboard. I'd guess Jerry myself, at this rate.

Thought a bit of history might help in trying to make our predictions. These are the people who have left first since 2007 series:

2007 - Brian Capron & Stephanie Beecham (separate male/female vote)

2008 - Phil Daniels & Gillian Taylforth (again separate)

2009 - Rav Wilding? & Martina Hingis (separate vote?)

2010 - Goldie

2011 - Edwina Currie

My choice would be Richard because he gets on my nerves a bit, & he's got two first names as his stage name, it spooks me out that he went for that.

Why not give him a chance - he has a great partner in Erin who is getting some dancing out of him
