I'm not very keen on G4. I think the novelty has worn off. I want STEVE to win!

I thought that the Tweens would be more into Steve than G4

Maybe I'll switch my vote

I heard/saw them do it last night. I'm a Radiohead fan.

To me "G4 sings Creep" is them saying "hey guys we can take anything and do it in our own 'operatic' style, even that weird stuff that other young people think is cool".

It's a bit like David Walliams as Denis Waterman wanting to "write the theme tooon, sing the theme tooon" and coming up with a result that always sounds exactly the same.

Or else the "I'm sorry I haven't a clue" game where someone sings something like "Psycho Killer" to the tune of "Happiness".....(actually that might just work... )

I don't think it is a good choice for other reasons too -- its a quiet, repetitive tune that doesn't really go anywhere and the words are pretty depressing. Not what you want to impress in the grand final. I can't see it bringing in votes: Radiohead fans will hate it, most of the GBP won't know it.

I think if you read the thread you will see that dogvod is a radiohead fan and he likes it. Why don't you just wait and see and then make a comment.

Im a massive Radiohead fan (yes Im obese..ha ha) and I will hate it even tho I havent heard it yet. I agree Kippery - that song is punctuated with guitars and for G4 to attempt it could easily go against them. Cant see the tweenie's (girly teenagers) liking that one at all.

radiohead's creep is about twelve years old. i doubt if many of the x factor's audience has heard of it, or are aware of it's significance in the indie arena. i think they'll slaughter it, the original song depended on the quiet bits being so quiet, fragile even, set against the angry conclusion, with g4 all you get is one dynamic, so i think it will be quite lousy.

mind you, given that voters on these shows appear to have no taste, no insight into music and no shame, g4 should win it...ha ha ha ha.

My husband is a huge Radiohead fan. He watched the soundcheck with me last night, He frowned all the way through it, When it had finished he played Creep and said 'That's what it's supposed to sound like!' and stormed out!

I don't think he will be buying it if G4 win!!!

I think a lot of ppl would think that angie, I don't like the original anyway but I didn't think G4 sounded too bad to be honest.

The original is a masterpiece. Haven't heard G4's version yet so i wont pass any comment except it might work, might not. I can honestly say i'm impartial on tonights vote. I wont be voting, but will watch with interest. I honestly cant stand Louis Walsh, but wont let that cloud my judgement.

May the best act on the night win.......................

I suppose it depends on if any of these all important 'floating voters' are Radiohead fans

And will depend on whether they like the version, or hate it. The 'floating voters' could have a HUGE say on the outcome, i dont think it will be too one sided, i think G4 will probabbly edge it, but it wont be by much. So really think people who are yet to decide can sway it

Very much doubt that die-hard Radiohead fans would watch X Factor. For the vast majority of people Creep will be the first time they have heard it. If I hadn`t have heard them do at bootcamp, I would never have heard it before.

I really believe that Nessum Dorma could win the floating voters over.......and not just saying that because I`m a huge G4 fan. It is universally known and loved and I have no reason to believe they won`t pull it off.

My husband will be, whether he likes it or not and he does vote occasionally. I'm not sure if he will tonight though.

That really depends on how they perform it. One of the points in G4s favour has been it is difficult to compare anything they do with the original, because they change it so much. In the case of Nessun Dorma, it may be closer to the original so easier to compare. Anyway we will find out later. Good Luck

I also hadn't heard Creep until I saw G4 do it at the auditions. This is my worry about them doing it tonight - it not being a well known song, especially to the more mature viewers.

That may be an advantage - perhaps the song and the performance can be judged on its own merits rather than by being compared to an original...

....aren't we all?? Theirs is a risky strategy at the best of times - I must admit I find the song choices for tonight brave but then that pretty much sums them up.

Made a change hasn't it from all those safe and unadventurous performances we usually get in these things.
