Gary treatment of Rylan?
firstly take out of the equation whether you wanted rylan to stay on the show and the sing-off result does no one seem to care about what he been saying about rylan live on air.
not exact words but on these lines he said Saturday Gary - I really dissapointed in judges etc then saying to Nicole she had 5 singers to choose from Last night gary to others judges you have a really easy decision to make after that performance Rylan we are taking microphone away or something on those lines about not having to hear him sing anymore. don't panic i am not rylan number 1 fan just think it harsh on the guy for the all the stick he is getting and gary is not judging impartially. |

Agree. There's being constructive then there's being rude

Anyway, if it is for real then Rylan just has to say the word Cocozza to invalidate Gary's argument.

I personally have nothing against Rylan as a person, but being a showman with very little vocal ability is technically not what the show is supposed to be about. Rylans presence takes a spot on the show that should have been given to a proper singer. I don't find Garys comments to be harsh at all, if anything I find them to be honest.

Just to throw the cat in with the pigeons here. Simon Cowell fully supported Frankie on the show because he brought the show lots of media attention. So is it not possible that Gary was given no choice but to try and keep frankie around all the longer? It is always possible that Gary was nothing more than Cowells puppet last year but this year Gary is refusing to play the game
Thought??? |

I think he is being way too harsh on Rylan. Wasn't he there when they were all choosing the acts going through to judges houses? If he didn't want Rylan there, he could have argued for a better singer like Joseph Whelan to get through instead. |

Gary's just coming across as nasty. I'm not happy that Carolynne went home, but at least it brought Gary back down to earth after his gloating.

You mean like the rest of us he thought it was a singing contest. Then I suppose you are right.

Im just disappointed that Gary continued to snipe at Rylan, even though he knows that that sort of thing made Frankie go off the rails, something Gary himself said he didn't feel good about. He knows better then anyone that if you fuel the hatred, its going to get worse. Would it of killed him to try and be constructive. Hes doing exactly what Louis and all the trolls did to Frankie last year, so hes basically condoning it when its not his contestant.
I think hes trying to be less "boring", and more "straight talking judge" but the way he treated Rylan in the sing off was just poor. He was blatantly going to save Carolynne, so was that comment necessary? By the looks of it Rylan thought he was going aswell, and thats why he spoke up. |

I dont care whether you love Rylan or hate Rylan to me there is no need for the rudeness Gary showed him over the weekend. I wonder how many of the people on here sticking up for Gary were going mad when Simon did the same to JEdward in 2009. Who were then sticking up for Simon when he put JEdward through instead of lucie?
JEdward and Rylan are one and the same. The boys have improved vocally a lot, but lets be honest when they were on the live shows at times they were awful, and drowned out by backing tracks and production. Now Rylan hasnt had the loud backing track, but yes he had the production. Fine, give constructive criticism, let him know his vocals need to improve etc but dont tell him its a joke hes there, that he doesnt deserve his place, that Nicole was basically a joke picking him while he is standing there on the stage. Again when he has sang for his life on the Sunday, and he thought he was gonig home, some of the comments were uncalled for. The guy had said in his VT that he had had some vile tweets, and Garys comments have only made that worse! Ive seen some vile tweets with the comment, gary was right t the end of them @RylanClark I actually want to punch u in ur face u gay c*** "aint being horrible, well ok then i am but, i hope @RylanClark gets aids, and dies a slow painfull death. ohh i forgot to say LOL." Sorry for the long winded post, all im trying to say is that GAry doesnt have to like that hes around, but the comments have just reinforced the idiots and the trolls that have sent him crap this week!! Anyway, the way to get Rylan out is to not criticise him so much, just give him less production and bland comments. I think Garys reaction on Sunday has all but secured him a place in the Top 11 in my opinion Again sorry for rambling!!!! |

Gary had as much input as the other judges into who got to go through to judges houses. It's completely unreasonable of him to then blast the guy for getting through to live shows! I feel so sorry for Rylan having to read such sickening abuse. I think most people realise he's not going to win, so why bother bullying him? It's not his fault he was chosen over Carolynne! Saying that, the audience seemed fully behind him last night, which was nice to see given the treatment Gary was dishing out to him. I think Gary's comments will definitely provoke a sympathy vote for Rylan. |

Can you see her selling millions of records worldwide? The International Star that they judges harp on about from time to time. I flaming can't. Who would buy an entire album of her dreary ditties. Not I, said the fly LOL!

I am not a massive Rylan fan. I actually think he shouldn't be in the show. He has a mediocre voice at best. I don't condone the bullying he has received but as a fellow gay man, he is the "typical" gay stereotype... Camp voice, fake tan, makeup, plucked to an inch of his life and almost plastic. I know it may sound horrible to say but that kind of gay person grates with me. It just seems so over the top and ridiculous. Not to mention it doesn't make us look good for the bigots who use these stereotypes against us... Don't even get me started on his reaction last week with Nicole. That was a big WTF moment! He shouldn't be bullied on TV though by any of the judges, especially after Gary stood by that talentless idiot Frankie last year. It's just such a pantomime now. Less about talent, more about spectacle... To be fair, most of the performances on Saturday were dire. For me "Gold" and "Don't Stop Me Now" were the worst

Garys right. It's a singing competition. Ask yourself how long Rylan is going to have a career for. One record maybe and then what the hell are they going to do with him.

I'll probably walk past him in Soho, dressed in drag (him not me). He'll be go go dancing in The Village trying to earn a few extra quid, or selling one of those TOWIE style beauty ranges.. For those of us who want to look like our father f*cked a wotsit lol

What is the show supposed to be about? Can some one on here explain to me why some people still think this is a singing competition when there is many different factors to put in like production, the dancing etc. Look at Wagner, Jedward, Cocozza etc. None of them could really sing at that time and yet they proved to have a fan base of some sort while on the show.

![]() James Arthur.........there's another one. I either want to smack his hand to stop him tugging at his shirt/top or give him a packet of Strepsils and hope his throat clears LOL! I feel quite sorry for Rylan actually. No, he's not a fab singer, but at the end of the day, he auditioned, got through and who can blame him for grabbing his moment as it were. It's not his fault that Louie dithered or was told to send it to deadlock or whatever the case may be. It isn't Rylans fault either that Carolynne got less votes than he did. All those folk that are now furious that Carolynne got sent home..............well, there was ONE way to ensure she didn't and that was to vote for her in the first place ![]()
