I've noticed recently that a lot of people on here seem to give Debbie Dingle a lot of stick for being miserable and whiny all the time and generally do not seem to like her.

I do understand she is miserable but when your child has a life threatening illness you are going to be upset over it and when you add being pregnant into the mix your hormones are all over the place at the best of times so I don't really see why people can moan about this. I mean you wouldn't be all smiles and happy if it was your own child, you would want to fight for them as much as you can like Debbie is doing.

I love both the character and the actress and I was wondering if anyone else likes Debbie as I don't think many people do.

She was already like that BEFORE Sarah's illness.

Long, long before!

The girl hasn't smiled in a decade.

Got to agree with that, she's an incredibly pretty girl.

Whats annoying is Charley Webb is great at emotional scenes, but Debbie is mostly robotic so she rarely gets a chance to shine instead she's just an annoyance when she could be a great character.

The actress is quite good, but the material they give her..

I don't really like the character, but adore the actress.
A difficult situation, as a soap viewer.

They need to get a hairdresser in for her. That blonde hair doesnt suit her at all, and needs a good cut!

Arms folded moaning all the time is not very exciting.

I wouldn't mind her being a miserable angry character, she's got a lot to moan about, but they need to write other characters that make sense with that.

Having Chas say things like 'She's a keeper, is our Debbie..' when she has shown no sign of being so.

And, we are supposed to believe she is in lurve with Cameron, yet we have seen virtually no scenes where they actually seem to be in love.

As has been said, the actress is better than the material she is being given.

This is very true. But then again, I don't get how 3 men can all be in love with Chas either, I don't see the pull in her.
IMO the whole Cameron/Debbie/Chas/Carl/Dan is awfully written, and none of the characters are believable.

I like Debbie in her scenes with Sarah and Andy, though.

I think that Debbie has got the potential to be a good character, but I have never seen her show any humour,
I know that she is going through a hard time now,
but in the past?....not one drop of humour
I find her very one dimensional.
