I'd never had a secret girl crush until Strictly started, so now I like oggling the male and female pros and would love to run my hands up and down Robin.

But even after googling them, I don't know what a Fruit Ninja or a Flickr is - other than what they really are IYSWIM

Aw come on! I'm going to bed soon and won't be able to sleep now with that image in my mind!

I take the point that dancing is a sexy business, so this program will always have a sexual context.
But I suppose my point is that there is not a balance between the sexist comments.

Counting Up -
Bruce is quite restrained in any comments about physical appearance.
Of the 4 Judges, at least 3 are more likely comments about the men.
Zoe is certainly more likely to make comments about the men.
Is Claudia back on Sun?, again will comment on men's physical appearance while the ladies "have lovely dresses".

So that's 5 for "he has a lovely bum" and 1 for "her curves are all in the right places".

I honestly don't think you have ever watched this programme

Not once this weekend was a female complimented by anyone on her lovely dress

and as for Bruce being restrained ask Dani whether she thought he was restrained or appropriate

Yes people have been complaining about Dani and Bruce needs to be very careful with the BBC backlash that is coming after the relevations

99% of the comments about the dancers bodies posted on here are said very tongue in cheek and long may it reign as the day when someone cant laugh about sex is the day the human race stops procreating

Exactly, both the males AND females (pros and celebs) get their comments from the judges, the presenters and each other. It looks pretty much a free for all on Strictly so don't pretend the men are the ones that have something (of whatever degree) to complain about (if there need be any complaining at all).

Well, out of the two choices you have offered, I would go for the former

Just what you say they are, but they sound quite rude.

To be fair when anyone gets complimented on their lovely dress - then that is the ultimate Strictly judging burn.

Lovely dress - and now lots of energy - seem to be one of them there euphamism-thingies that mean, that was really bad, but happy face and positive comments first

You can get a Fruit Ninja at a basement video shop in Soho, and Flickr is an adult entertainment magazine for the discerning Victorian fetishist.

You obviously missed the bit where he said to Dani (a young woman in her twenties) that she had a "beautiful front". Disgusting comment coming from an 84 year old bloke. Ughhhh.

And to answer your opening post, the BBC allows sexist programmes because it IS sexist, but usually in favour of men.

There are four judges on the show, but only one is female.

The BBC axed Arlene Philips from the show (a woman in her sixties with a lifetime's experience of dance and choreography) and replaced her with a vaccuos (but young and attractive) ex-girl band singer with very limited knowledge. And at the same time, they keep re-hiring an 84 year old man to host the show, who struggles with reading the autocue, forgets his lines and also sometimes forgets people's names.

So if there is sexism in women's favour for a change, I'm all for it!

Excellent post. I don't know of any 84 year old woman employed by the BBC on a regular basis.

I think that this sums the situation up perfectly! It's always seemed pretty equal to me.

I think there are quite a few of the male celebs (and pros) who may enjoy being ogled.
