I am looking for advice about Fruit, herbal and lose leaf tea.

It is my friends birthday soon, and she has recently started to drink fruit and herbal teas (all from tea bags) and has really been enjoying them. So I have been looking at buying some 'luxury' (or may be just some different teas) for her birthday.

I am seeing a lot of teas are (what I think) are lose leaf how do you make theses teas with out getting all the bits in your drink.

I ausme for teas like this one
Would just require a small strainer basket (which I am sure I have seen somewhere) but what about tea like this one

How on earth do you go about making that??

Any other hints tips, or where I should buy from would be greatfully received.

With loose leaf tea, I either use a tea pot and a strainer or if it is just me, I just use fill a strainer with tea and pour boiling water over it.

I would suppose with the banana and citrus tea, you just use a tea pot and a strainer as the fruit would be too large to escape the spout.

I don't like tea, but I recently tried and LOVED Suki red berry tea. Suki Tea sell a (not inexpensive) gift package which can include their own teapot.

I have just been looking for this type of thing, and found amazon.co.uk to have some great teapots with strainers built in, and a wide variety of tea strainers to put in your cup.

If you want to make it a bit more personal, you can make your own blend and even buy little bags to make your own teabags, so no worries about straining (you might want a prettier blend to be kept loose for presentation though). If filling your own bags is too fussy, add a tea infuser along with the tea.

If you are interested in making your own mix, have a look at these pages for some ideas on blends -

ETA: Just had a look around that exotic teapot site you linked to Stephen and they have some nice stylish infusers (much better than the bog standard infuser I linked above). That would make a lovely gift along with some tea.

I second the recommendation for Teapigs, their teas are so fresh tasting. You can buy a few of the varieties instore in Waitrose.

Teapigs is good.

I am addicted to this jasmine tea from Rare TeaCo:

They sell it in waitrose, about £6, not cheap for a little tin, but the tin is quite nice if you're giving it as a gift.

I brew my loose leaf tea in a cafetiere from Poundland which cost.....£1. If that's too cheap for you, there are more stylish Pyrex glass ones available from Asda and Wilkinsons for a couple of pounds more. I like the ones with rounded plastic handles and plastic surrounds as they are easier to clean and more comfortable to hold.

Anyone a fan of Nettle and Dandelion teas, supposedly good for their cleansing benefits, just wondering if anyone has felt the said benefits?
