I'm having another go at Shuddufluffy's idea because it does seem to me constructive to have a safety valve, whether for the forum or life beyond. Somewhere to scream (thread is sound-proofed), to drink (Look! we've got everything, and pretzels), hurl cushions (basically it's a padded cell), kick dogs (he's a bean bag, don't worry), sob (tissues stacked up to ceiling), seek consolation (Aw, what's wrong? Hard day?) or just to calm yourself (One, Two, Three, Four...)
Trained counsellors (other drunks) available at all times. I'm sure we can work out a rota.
Rules: no names, no references to specific forum issues, no fighting, no in-groups, no fondling
Positively encouraged: sweetness, light, advice, therapeutic swearing, bribes to mods, jokes. What happens in here stays in here.
If the mods really don't want it, they'll shut us down, but hey, we're young and resilient. It won't lead to a downward spiral of depression and substance abuse.
