The Well-Meaning Safety-Valve Thread
Pet Monkey
10-10-2012
I'm having another go at Shuddufluffy's idea because it does seem to me constructive to have a safety valve, whether for the forum or life beyond. Somewhere to scream (thread is sound-proofed), to drink (Look! we've got everything, and pretzels), hurl cushions (basically it's a padded cell), kick dogs (he's a bean bag, don't worry), sob (tissues stacked up to ceiling), seek consolation (Aw, what's wrong? Hard day?) or just to calm yourself (One, Two, Three, Four...)

Trained counsellors (other drunks) available at all times. I'm sure we can work out a rota.

Rules: no names, no references to specific forum issues, no fighting, no in-groups, no fondling

Positively encouraged: sweetness, light, advice, therapeutic swearing, bribes to mods, jokes. What happens in here stays in here.

If the mods really don't want it, they'll shut us down, but hey, we're young and resilient. It won't lead to a downward spiral of depression and substance abuse.

I brought some sustenance. Can we put up some decoration and swear our little hearts out? (within the above rules)?

I don't think this thread will last long though, just saw that another one was closed.

I know... But we're well-meaning and trained

To the mods: hullo, hulloo-ooo, not trying to vex you. If it goes rowdy or annoys other posters, I'll alert you myself. At present it's just two of us getting blotto.

What kind of drunk are you, lach? Is it lach or doch or mal for short? And what does it mean?

The Strictly Come Dancing forum is for the discussion of all things Strictly, which this thread fails to do. This thread is off-topic - please do not disregard our ruling and again recreate it.
