deleted email account but still getting emails
Rather foolishly I went to change the password on my tiscali email account ( from the talk talk website) whilst under heavy pain killing meds. I managed to delete the account instead!!
I phoned up the help desk but was told thats it nothing they can do. yet 4 hours later I can still pick up and send emails from the account. I can log into the webmail ok, but if i go to the account settings it doesnt recognise the email. My question is, is it a matter of time before the account properly shuts down or will i be able to use it as before just without the admin controls I really wanyt to keep the email but am nervous that it will suddenly dissapear without warning Thanks for any insight |

They probably have a clear down of old accounts every once in a while so until they run the clearup you'll be ok

You have nothing to lose by going to the TalkTalk forum, starting a new thread there and see if TalkTalk will reinstate your account (given the circumstances) before the deletion becomes final.

Don't pay any attention to what the guy on the phone said. The forum can move mountains if so inclined and don't delay in posting your thread. The sooner the better, if deletions are processed automatically. And before I forget again, if you haven't done this already, copy any important emails and contacts from the Tiscali account in case it suddenly gets deleted. TalkTalk sometimes read this forum and might respond. It's a shame you didn't mention TalkTalk in the thread title.

Hi stringman, If you tweet us @TalkTalkCare or join the TalkTalk Members Forum we can invesitgate into this and advise you further. @Evil C, fear not, we dont identify threads from Titles alone, we have more dynamic methods to bring support requests to our attention. Thanks to Mark in TalkTalk for responding.
OP, if TalkTalk restore your email account, let the forum know in case someone else has a similar mishap in the future. |

Mark thanks for that. I dont do tweets but i did follow the advice on here and post on the talktalkforum 10 views and sunk without a trace. http://www.talktalkmembers.com/forum...ad.php?t=87920 it seems that as its still active until they clean the servers that IT MUST be possible to recover the setting. i do apprecciate that there may not be a pre configured way like aol but I am sure that a man in talktalk land somewhere with a pc can do some magic Thanks |

I just checked your post and the replies on the TalkTalk forum. If Mark sees any other similar posts on DS at least now he can tell the poster that once the account is deleted by the user, then it cannot be reinstated. I note also that TalkTalk do work weekends.
