In fact my main complaint is surrounding the battery life which is well below what amazon have stated.
The light is fantastic for people like me who have had to use clip on style lights, using a clip on light is when you get real uneven lighting. And of course the light also means no more eye strain in dim daylight.”
There are lots of photos on that page of people holding the paperwhite, some in daylight, some in dark rooms and they all show a perfect white screen. The one you receive will have 4 darker patches at the bottom. Doesnt say that, doesnt show that. Its only by looking at customer reviews and customer photos that you get to see what it REALLY looks like.
But, im not saying everyone is unhappy with it, the light issue is clearly not a problem for some people and its much better if you're a reading in bed at night, but the main selling point for me wasnt for it to be better than a clip-on light, but i wanted a screen that was uniform white, whiter the kindle i've already got no darker bits on the screen at all. Thats what is advertised on the website, thats what i expect to get for £100+. It is false advertising on a huge scale for such a big company as Amazon and I hope they get lots of returns on this and have to refund customers so they dont bring out an inferior quality product like this in the future. I personally think its a rush-job for christmas and next year they will bring out one that doesnt have this light issue but for me i wont be parting with any money this xmas.
