Bit odd his still paying maintenance for his adult kids in their twenties or is it backdated?

It might be backdated, it might also be nobody else's business.

Bad enough that the Mail is reporting this without it being dragged up on here.

I do hope someone will let us all know if he falls behind on his council tax or if has to start buying supermarket own brand beans.

I'm sure it was a big deal earlier in the year, there was a court date and he was ordered to pay backdated payments or something like that.

Well I hope he gets other projects and more work coming in .
Just goes to show that not all soap actors are on easy street like McFadden,Knox and Roache, they must be laughing all the way to the bank

It was backdated from ages ago he owes £51k as he was made bankrupt in 2008 I'm sure he will find other work as he's a great actor

Will he be labelling those to 'mark his territory'?

EastEnders star Jamie Foreman was today allowed to reduce maintenance payments to support his two children after a court heard his character is to be axed.

Foreman, 54, who plays nasty villain Derek Branning in the TV soap, was warned he could still be jailed if he fails to keep up the payments for sons Louie, 23, and Alfie, 21.

Magistrates agreed the actor can now pay £50 a week per child instead of the £1,000 a month for each son he has been paying since he landed his role in the BBC show.

But he is due to be leaving EastEnders in the next month and is rumoured to be killed-off in a dramatic scene to be shown at Christmas.

Barrister Crispin Hayhoe, representing the Child Support Agency, told Bromley Magistrates Court: 'Mr Foreman is an actor and I understand that the role he is playing at the moment is likely to end shortly.

'The agency understands the situation Mr Foreman faces. It is not uncommon for people effectively to lose their jobs.

'But if he was to get some lucrative employment subsequent to this we would expect him to voluntarily increase the payments and the agency reserves the right to bring the matter back to court earlier (than the next scheduled review hearing on February 15, 2013).'

James Mehigan, representing Foreman, said: 'Prior to paying £1,000 per month per child he was paying £50 a week for each child.

'So he has asked the court to revert to £50 a week per child.

'It was not easy to pay but he had managed to pay it prior to that.'

When Foreman, son of notorious East End gangster Freddie Foreman, last appeared in court in April he owed around £51,000 in unpaid maintenance.

Mr Mehigan added: 'He has complied with the order to pay £1,000 a month per child and he has paid some £10,000 since the last hearing.'

The court agreed Foreman can start the new repayment amount from November 1. A review hearing is scheduled for February 15 next year at Bromley Magistrates Court.

Miss Skinner, Chair of the Bench, said: 'We note that Mr Foreman understands that should he be in a position to pay greater sums in view of getting perhaps another job in the meantime he would be expected to do so.'

She reminded the court Foreman is subject to a suspended 42-day prison sentence, imposed in January 2011, if he fails to pay.

She said: 'He would be liable to end up in prison if these payments are not maintained as the court had ordered.'

Foreman, from Beckenham, Kent, was not at court today as he did not have to attend the hearing.

No financial details of his EastEnders contract were given in court.

He had a six-month contract between April and October.

Prior to that he had another four month contract between November 2011 and March this year which was renewed.

Alfie is the son of his previous relationship with former EastEnders actress Carol Harrison, but no details were given in court about his elder son Louis.

At a previous hearing the court was told Foreman was declared bankrupt in 2008 and had missed child maintenance payments because of that.

It was said the actor had struggled to find regular work but was hoping his new job on EastEnders would make him more secure financially.

His contract was due to end this month or so it says in the article. So many people on DMs website are asking why he is paying when the kids are so old, don't they read the full article? He owes a fortune and he should pay it back.

I don't understand why this is news?

News has hit rock bottom when they're plastering a man's finances all over the papers and talking about his maintenance payments. FGS, give the man some privacy.
