I remember John Paul pinning Ste up against a wall () after some car crash that Micheala and Ste were both involved in. I think JP blamed Ste for putting her in danger.

Ste did more than that, he ran off and left Amy for dead. He was a totally different character back then.

Why is it assumed that these characters will even interact? Just because they're all gay?

I can't think of anything worse than John Paul going anywhere near any of them. He just wouldn't fit in that scanerio.
