It's not biased opinion it's simply honest opinions you don't like
I have repeatedly praised Gennie and Nikhil - most posters like them, ditto David and Nikhil but the credit for this goes more to the actors- the actors work well together - even so this David and Priya fling also impacts on the David Nikhil bromance

After Gennie and Nikhil got together they basically disappeared into the background instead of letting viewers see them happy we got endless scenes of Debbie, Chas and Cameron- he won't focus on them unless it's to show misunderstandings and conflict- no characters can be happy on this show

I really liked the episode where Jai and Charity got married and the Jai Noah scenes but he's ruined them within 6 months with that one night stand

Kerry is the only good addition this year

We have had a year of the abomination that is Maurel

THIS- storylines over complicated by unnecessary additional plot contrivances- one of the worst developments is the past year or so

I liked the idea that it looked like chas and Carl might have been a goer again, the scenes over the past couple of data have been poor though.

I might be in a minority, but i think the show is pretty good overall.
However, there are still some awful characters who really do spoil the show for me.
If they got rid of the Spencers, especially the desperately bad Rachel, Zach, Debbie, Marlon and Laurel, then i'd probably have no complaints at all.

He has completely destroyed the dedication and hard work of Gavin Blyth.

Stuart Blackburn had a vision that most people don't want to see.

Most of that is considered bad by a lot of viewers who criticise SB. Nikhil & Gennie, David & Nikhil and David & Alicia are the highlights; Rishi is an OK character, and John's exit was good, but he and Moira were tainted by the stupid Cain/Moira affair.

IMO, there is nothing good about the Spencers or Megan and Robbie (Rachel and Megan had potential, but that's be ruined by the bad writing); Hazel was a tedious character who should have left sooner father that later, and I hope she never returns; the less said about Ashley's destruction the better; Kerry is a waste of space; Andy's time in the village was up ages ago; there is nothing positive about Jai cheating on Charity with a woman he wouldn't give a second glance, and getting said woman pregnant.

All of this, plus: Laurel/Marlon, Debbie/Cameron/Chas/Dan; the Saviour Sibling; Sarah's illness; Zak's vague mental illness complete with random loan sharks; Evil Val (she could always be a bit nasty, but she turned into a monster); Amy eating up the show; Home Farm having its most boring family to ever live there; Adam the arsonist; Evil Rhona (from what little I saw, I liked Rhona growing some balls, but not to the extent she went to); Jimmy's amnesia; the destruction of Carl & Jimmy's relationship.

Hope I didn't forget anything.

Maybe SB will be different at Corrie, as it is a different beast that may suit his skills better. Or, he could destroy that show, too. It could go either way.

I'm with you. I do like Zak, but the others I can't stand, however it is a typical soap and has to have plenty of (melo)drama to hold people's interest, (in these days where the average viewer has the attention span of a gnat).

It's pretty good really, once you accept the inevitable, repeat inevitable, suspensions of disbelief which occur in ALL soaps.

Imo Emmerdale right now is unmissable. The build up to the live ep has been fantastic and its gripping. I personally can't wait for the live ep and the drama of many stories that have been building to come to an explosive end.

I think the show is pretty good overall as well. I know there have been complaints that Chas is overused, but I really do love her character and so I don't mind seeing her. This past week has been really good - I've loved the scenes with Chas, Cameron and Carl, and the Carl/Jimmy/Charity stuff. I think the Dan and Chas pairing works well. When I first heard they were going to get together and get married, I was wary but I think it really works. I can imagine Chas wanting to settle down with someone safe and trying to have a relatively ordinary trouble free life, after everything she went through with Carl and sleeping with Cameron.

I'm also a big fan of the Jai/Rachel story and I can't wait for the truth to be revealed and for Charity to find out. The Spencers don't seem very popular on here, but I really like them and think they've all been good additions to the cast. I like them as a family unit and I think they've had some good stories so far. I like some of their little stories, like Amelia wanting to get christened.

Gennie and Nikhil are wonderful. It's great to see Diane back, and Rishi and Kerry are two good characters. I really enjoyed the mother/daughter scenes with Amy and Kerry when they were reunited for the first time. I was also a big fan of the Alicia and David storyline and I'm looking forward to Alicia returning.

Having said all this, there have been negatives to Blackburn's reign as well. I really didn't like Zak's mental health storyline, Marlon/Laurel are terrible and I really wish Ashley and Laurel were still together. They were the perfect couple! I can't believe they were torn apart. The Megan/Robbie storyline was dull, dull, dull :yawn: They've both grown on me a bit since then though. Megan has potential, though she is still a bit dull. And Robbie will work quite well as a character if they keep him really creepy and sinister.

Overall, there have been negatives to Blackburn's reign but there have been positives too. Emmerdale is in pretty good shape and I do think the negatives are a bit overstated.

If we don't want to see his vision it can't be classed as entertainment. And his business is to entertain.

I disagree about Dan and Chas. The poor man is a total joke, no one takes him seriously, least of all Chas. Unless they turn him into a far more positive character he's going to end up being binned by the rasping, tawdry Chas.

He really does choose them. First the coarse, boorish Ali and now the charmless Chastity. His life is not going to be a happy ever after. Poor simple, gormless Dan.

I agree and Blackburn's idea of entertainment is Maurel. Says it all.

I'm not a massive follower of Emmerdale though I will be watching the live episode - I think from what people have been saying, he is the Kim Crowther of Emmerdale.
