I'm surprised he only made £250,000 profit

What surprised me was that nothing happened. With all of the months of planning you'd have thought there would have been a big dramatic stunt, explosions, etc or even a storyline coming to a head. All the festival came to was Declan screwing Megan, it was all utterly pointless, wouldn't the festival have been a great backdrop to the live episode, the chaos, music, anarchy of the festival would have been great

The thing i can't understand is they spent all that money on putting it together but when you think, in an hour and a half worth of episodes, there was probably only 15/20 minutes of the festival. They should of shown more of it or had an extra on the website where you could watch the 'whole festival'. I can't imagine that they didn't film the whole song of each act, can you imagine the producers saying to them, we want you to perform but only perform 10 seconds worth of each song so im sure they would of had footage of all and every song.

Hopefully they do it next year and it is an annual thing but hopefully they do learn like anybody who would be putting on his first festival would do, and make it better next year, they all start somewhere don't they. Hey who knows, in 20 odd years, Homefields could be the next Glasto! They could actually sell tickets like a real festival, let fans of emmerdale get the chance to experience seeing it being filmed while attending the festival.

When Amy's mum walked through the curtain did anyone else think it was all going to collapse?

They can't help the weather. The MFest was supposed to be
held at Harewood House in July but there was torrential rain and flooding as they were setting up and had to be cancelled.

They were to have filmed a lot of that and there were some quite big name bands to be there.

They had to put something together fairly quickly from scratch as it had been mentioned often, and that was the reason for Megan being there.
I think they did very well in the circumstances.

Perhaps it will be an annual thing, Morrisons (the main sponsors) may try again next year. I'm sure they'd have been insured and wouldn't have lost too much.

I just don't think the festival worked.

It kind of got in the way of the storylines and had a 'tacked on' feel about it.

Better to have had it feature on Monday's episode (to launch the anniversary week on a high note) and focus on the festival for most of the episode, with other storylines fitting in around it - in much the same way as the showhome explosion in 2006 did.

But as it was, Emmy clearly spent a lot of money and it was nothing inspiring - Friday night's episode was especially bad: there was a major tonal lurch between the festival scenes and the Chas/Carl scenes - interspersed with the tedious hen party stuff in the pub.

I think the storylines linked to the festival were probably dropped what with the whole change brought on by the real festival being cancelled, I think basically they were stuck with something they had to show as they had talked so often about it.

Maybe Victoria and Alex were meant to break up at it or some of the other summer storylines, perhaps the whole Katie/Robbie stuff was meant to happen during the festival, who knows.

Kerri's big knockers bouncing all about were enough to scare anyone. Amazed she didn't knock someone out with those things.

Could anyone really hear the music though? It was quite muted when I watched it.
