On of the first things someone said to me as I walked into the reception was how much they liked my dress.

The compére held my hand and walked me up and down the steps so I didn’t fall. I’ve been trying to remember his name, he was in Byker Grove and he performed a very pleasant background cabaret during dinner.

He was fairly cheerful, he was using his iWalk because he is more stable with it, and he let me help him with things instead of trying to be independent.

His girlfriend will be starting a new job soon after being “let go” immediately after she qualified as a lawyer. She wasn’t at the dinner, his getting a place was very last minute because he expected to be in hospital. He has been put on the emergency list so as soon as there is a space he’ll be called in. The specialist is only in on Wednesdays so he won’t be awaiting a phone call every day – just once a week.

That's good news he's still remaining cheerful. Also good new his G/F has a job to go to. Islay's daughter graduated from uni with a lawyers degree, & is working in Morrisons because she can't get a job she studied for. It's ridiculous!

At least he knows to be semi prepared one day a week, better than every day just hoping.
