Gawd, but I'm having a miserable time. If it can go tits up, it will.

So I'm doing roast parsnips for supper to cheer myself up. Something else to go with them would be good but I can't think what. Yes, that's how miserable I am.

KJeeves tells me "someone" has run a cable over to GD so we're tapping their 'leccy for nowt. It's only fair.

Walked to the local bus stop and was offered a day ticket free of charge by a bloke. So, naturally I said thank you very much and had a free trip into town.

Bought an auto biography by Dannii Minogue called 'My Story' for 99p, plus some headphones with microphone at the same place. 99p store.

Later, I met a mate of mine in a pub, who is terminally ill unfortunately and he had to leave early.

Later, I was drinking a pint at the bar in the same place and this woman was looking at me every time I glanced towards her.

So, I went nearer to her and engaged in conversation. Her friend was saying I should phone her tomorrow, but I haven't got her number. I gave her my numbers though, so time will tell. Very nice lady. I'm moving on from the previous woman, as she causing me too much stress.

Went to another pub. Nothing much going on there, so piddled about on The Cloud (wifi hotspot).

Went to another pub, only to be told to leave after requesting politely to have a bit more head on a pint of lager I'd ordered. So, not only did they not get my money, a perfectly good pint of lager was poured down the drain. Great business sense eh!

Walked home. Got wet.

Did you know you can get a vacuum cleaner that plugs into a USB port to clean the keyboard of your computer or the fan of a laptop?

Well, nor did I. 99p and it's yours.

It works reasonably well, but obviously don't expect Numatic Henry standards.

*delivers mahoosive hug to the Batty one* I hope things are looking up. It's the weekend, at least

Here, well, we had the heating valve thingy replaced, the float valve in the header tank replaced, the boiler serviced so YAY we have heating - but we now need a new hot water cylinder tank thingy complete with immersion heater. Thought we might get away with the leak over winter with the heating on evaporating it - but came home just now to a puddle in the airing cupboard. So that's my precious day off next Friday taken care of along with most of what I earnt this month

I thought condensing boilers were the way forward these days, so you don't need a hot water cylinder or water tanks in the loft etc.

Can't afford the new boiler Ours is ancient but still serviceable - and having an immersion heater gives us the hot water option should the boiler pack up.

More hugs - fab!

I'm feeling slightly more cheerful but that's mostly because I spent all of last night working and the same this morning, and I think I can see some wood through the trees.

Obviously this can't go on. I want my weekends back!!!

Ooh I shall add my quota of hugs and oojamaflips and stuff and ting... Hope things pick up for you soon! .... btw what's a weekend?

I had a very strange Saturday. Everything at work went smoothly and the days load was finished early, not that I was allowed to go home early but it was good to get everything done and with no flapping around and threats involved.

YoungPlum and I have had an awesome evening. She's making an amusement park for school and has to be based on a favourite band/singer. She's chosen Katy Perry. Well we've been gathering appropriate cardboard and buying assorted crafty bits and bobs for the last couple of weeks (including a glue gun - I love glue guns, never had one before and they are just wonderfully gluey!), today she started painting and this evening I was helping her make the rides and whatnot, we've had an absolute hoot! I'm just there for technical advisory input and holding things steady but she is doing the work. It's going to be very sparkly and gloriously twinkly. She is somewhat painty now and I seem to have a light coating of glitter of assorted colours.... DestructoPup is also twinkling - possibly internally too as she licked the table we were working on.

I'm off to bed now. Tomorrow we enter phase two, where we need to go and buy a printer as we need some pics of Katy Perry and then we do the firework scene - yayyyy more glitter! Then we have to clear up before my friend/landlady gets home and sees the mess Fortunately, her daughter made hers last weekend so she knows what to expect.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

*awaits with interest a report on DestructoPup's glittery poo...*

Busy Saturday with irritating sections, but got my paycheque safely though on Friday and have treated myself to my first ever hoodie! (ten quid from Tesco!)

Also let the Terrible Three out for their first ever run in the garden, which they enjoyed thoroughly and I was able to clean the kitchen floor while they were outside - impossible when they're in, as they grab the mop and I end up mopping the floor with three cats!

Seen the trailer for Dr Who tonight, just after Strictly. Eeeeep!

I'm loving the mental image I now have of you mopping the floor with three cats. And trying not to think about glittery poos.

Fell down bottom three stairs on Sunday and sprained my foot - same one as last time, FFS!

Still, got a couple of days off out of it!

Hope all are well on a soggy Monday morning...
