So long as it works fed up with the wifi cutting out. Good luck with the cabbage soup yuck.
Bats is it PG time? or B & G's choc
It was indeed PG time last night, around midnight, when I got home. But only a little splash as today is the day for finding the paperwork that has gone astray. A big task and one that might have to involve, gulp, tidying my desk.

Hope the task is proceeding fruitfully!

laura, no, sadly I didn't!
Poirot is one of those series we never started watching; no doubt one day we'll get the box set and watch the whole lot!

paperworky day today - busy busy busy!

All most needed and appreciated but that bloody paperwork is still outsmarting me. Grrr....

I've had enough of this week. Who's for a cold PG and a sing along? How about I am Sailing, by Rod Stewart? KJ might be persuaded to do some slightly out of date snacks and we could party all night long... In theory, obviously.

I feel like a deflated balloon today But that's what having a bottle of wine on a school night does to one

Evening all. TFIF. That is all

Oh, BG - if you're into tidying desks, I have one here that you're welcome to have a go at. I've been supervising the plumber all day (new hot water cylinder now safely installed, hurrah!) and mysteriously, my desk is still virtually invisible, despite my best intentions ...

Rumour has it that there is a desk in YoungPlum's room, but as yet there have been no sightings so it is somewhat LochNessMonsteresque.

You wouldn't want me anywhere near your desk. My one is now clear... but surrounded by piles of paperwork stacked on the floor.

I'm going to consider what my next step should be over a cup of tea and a crumpet.

Doctor Who on 23rd should now be on your 7 day Freeview EPG, so don't forget to set your video recorders, especially if you're going out.

Borgen Series 3 starts tonight on BBC4 too.

Just found this, if anybody is interested.

SCIENTIFIC DOCUMENTARY: Horizon Special
On: BBC 2 East (2)
Date: Saturday 23rd November 2013 (starting in 7 days)
Time: 21:15 to 22:15 (1 hour long)

A one-off alert is set for Saturday 23rd November 2013, 15 minutes before 21:15
Comet of the Century Comet ISON could well be the brightest and most spectacular comet for a generation.
It should appear above the eastern horizon from December 2013 as a glorious streak across the sky. ISON has been travelling towards the sun for ten thousand years and will make only one orbit through its corona before disappearing off into the outer solar system. But as well as providing a great spectacle, ISON's tail of vapourised gas and water, hundreds of millions of kilometres long, will give insights into some of the greatest mysteries of science; it will help explain the origins of the solar system, whether earth's water was delivered on comets and even whether we are alone in the universe.

It was at this point many years ago that my crazy cat that I had at the time decided it would be great fun to jump off the window sill and bounce from pile to pile of papers and muddle them all up. My beautiful system all went to pieces. I don't know what it is about me and animals but they always seem bevahiourally deficient

I've just been out for the evening, a group of about 15 or so ladies from my work all met up at a colleagues house. A very pleasant evening, would be nicer if I'd been able to drink but with YoungPlum there and a drive home it wasn't on the cards. I'm so responsible, it hurts

came back late last night, my dad has dementia and 24 hr care needs, my 97 year old mother ( ex district nurse) is doing it herself as doesnt want him to go into a nursing home.
Care is going in now and she is thinking about some sort of live in carer arrangement, but it is killing her.

Oh, poor snowy and poor snowy MumandDad
It's horrible to be so far from people when you want to be nearby.
I hope the care packagae is a good one, and I really hope it helps your Mum. At least the GP sounds as if he/she is on the ball.

KJ - As if we weren't going to programme *that* one in!
Haven't seen any of Borgen yet but I'm sure we will eventually

I'll be watching Palace Hull on TV, on 23rd, but c'mon, it'd be so easy to forget.

Then my heart goes out to you too.

I'm sure you're very well informed so I'm not offering advice but if you need a rant and someone who's been there to listen then go right ahead. By PM if you prefer. (((snOwy)))

SnOWy, I'm really sorry to read about the situation with your parents. It's hard to watch parents go downhill, when you remember them as your rock in life, and then the roles gradually switch a bit. At least the docs/system are going to try to support your mum in keeping your dad at home, largely in her care but with practical/physical support. I really don't know what to say, but will keep you all in my thoughts/prayers.

I find women in general better at expressing their feelings than men.

Some of the posts I read on here I want to comment on, but I don't know what to say, other than things like 'I hope you get well soon', 'Sorry to hear about your situation', etc. etc., almost like reading and typing from a script. So, please bear with me, if I appear indifferent to these matters. It's not intentional.

No worries jra. We're all different.

My Big News is that I finally found what I've been looking for (it's the the paperwork... not some life-long quest completed ). It wasn't even lost, I just wasn't seeing it. Shows how knackered I am.

Well I'm disappointed, I was happy believing you had found your unholy grail
