![]() Here, as predicted, Batman and I took our plumbing problem into the world of retail and had a few more frank conversations, but this time out in public. However it all ended quite well (I always measure these things against an argument we once had in a shoe shop which resulted in the manager hiding in the stock room for a bit) and Batman admitted (by the time we were in B&Q) that I'm usually right. Obviously by usually he meant always but I'm not going to split hairs over the details. We're not out of the woods yet, though, as we're now negotiating over the tiles budget. Could life get any more exciting? I think not. |

hello all
shame about your trip,,,,I have run out of steam..so will have a little snoozette I think ![]() ![]() The Circle Line wasn't running due to engineering works. ![]() I didn't go to Westfield, Stratford, but went to Covent Garden instead. I saw a cyber cafe/shop there and had a play on various Apple products for the first time. I must admit I was impressed with the touch screens. One product, if you turned it upside down, the display would turn itself upside down to correct it. It was, I think a mini iPod/iPad. I really wanted to buy one there and then. In the same place I also met a couple who were watching their wedding reception on YouTube and by sheer co-incidence they were also from Luton. It was quite a funny video. Many happy returns if either of you two read this. Dee and Richard's First Wedding Dance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SAd8gYEpvk I managed to catch the hydrogen bus, route RV1. Also travelled on the Piccadilly, Jubilee (part of the line with platform doors) and Victoria Lines. Had a couple of jars at 'The Hole In The Wall', a pub where trains run over the top of the building. |

There's a Hole in the Wall in York too. Supposed to be haunted, but then everywhere in York's supposed to be haunted.
![]() We've not managed to get much done today as there are floods all around and we almost got stuck! |

This is hilarious, even if you're not into trains.

Phew, I've been worrying about you, what with all this water everywhere. Hugs right back (((melons))).
It's been quite scary around here and I almost got stuck again a couple of times. I've a choice of about a quarter of a mile, maybe more, of fairly deep water, and a much shorter but deeper dip in the road coming at it from the other side. I went out the long way and it just seemed to go on and on and the car wasn't loving it, then came back through the deep dip and the car almost stopped. If it rains tonight I'm swimming... |

Why does insomnia always kick in at the worst possible moments?
Got to do a little commute from North Beds -> Hatfield -> North Beds -> Birmingham NIA -> Hatfield -> North Beds starting in less than 12 hours time. I've worked out that I should get home by about 4am. Which makes the fact that I can't sleep right now extremely irritating. It's a good job Elbow are worth it ![]() .... anyone want my single spare ticket? ![]() Water levels here have been pretty scary (that horrible feeling when you're committed to moving forward in water that turns out to be a lot deeper than it first appeared to be... I knows it ) but hopefully subsiding. Be careful out there, fellow grumpers ![]() That said I noticed snow was forecast for Saturday round here. Joy!

I'm in a most excellent mood. Nothing good has happened to put me in a good mood, I just have been in fine form all day! I kept myself happy being cheeky to my colleagues and poking my tongue out at the boss when she had her back turned, I then realised that I was in more danger of being busted than I thought because she could have seen my reflection in the freezer window - ooopsy! ..... and I wonder why she hates me
Even that served to further improve my mood. I'm so happy it's dangerous! I have a lurking suspicion that it may be hysteria, but if so there is a lot to be said for it

You're still there Plummy - maybe she secretly enjoys your cheeky ways.
![]() snOwy - also knackered.com here. Amica - thanks to you I doubled up my Tesco vouchers and went wild with the wine shopping. I got £90 to spend with the vouchers I found (and I now know I can go online and print off the lost ones) and then there was 25% off for more than 6 bottles (well... yes). So we're knee deep in lovely plonk that cost next to nothing.

Life is strange.
Earlier on this evening I went to see a local firework display and just caught the end of it. It was at the local Sikh temple.
Anyway, I was hanging around and I was invited in by a Sikh. He showed me around including the place where the local Sikhs go to pray, which was very beautiful. I had to take off my shoes and put on a headband before entering. I was also offered some free food, which was delicious. So, I spent a couple of hours in there and met some new people. |

![]() It's been like this ever since I asked her if it was a sackable offence to squash a manager with a pallet full of rubbish ... does the fact that she deigned not to reply mean I have a tacit agreement that it's ok? In which case I'm going to work shortly with a spring in my step and murder on my mind
