Bit early to be up on a Sunday, innit...

It is indeed.

I'm just finishing a 3 day weekend and I don't want to go back to work tomorrow. That's the trouble with time off work, you relax and realise quite how much nicer it is to not be at work ... but then of course reality bites and you remember the money - d'oh!

Thanks for the Christmas card Batty, it just arrived here this week - it was my only card. Although the shops sell Christmas cards, they don't seem to be big on sending them around here, but maybe it's just me and nobody likes me, everybody hates me, guess I'll go eat worms......

handy - Melony is wise beyond her years to reject the evil that is/are sprouts. As to the rest of the veggies, she'll get there in the end. YoungPlum used to be terrible but now is merely bad

Not much else happening here. Had a lovely long phone chat with one of my brothers the other evening, we hadn't chatted for ages. I miss him so much, but when we chat it's like it's been no time at all. It was funny though that although we were on the phone for the best part of an hour and a half, I don't think we actually found out much about what the other had been up to, so god knows what we did talk about, I just came away from it laughing.

Did you put an Air Mail/Par Avion sticker on it though? That makes a big difference in posting times.

For example. Air Mail to the states takes a few days. Non air mail, aka surface mail, takes anything up to a month to deliver, as it goes by ship instead of by plane across the Atlantic. I know this because of ordering CDs/DVDs from the states.

Similarly, for Australia, I expect. Maybe your card went via the Suez Canal on its way.

If I had known that you'd only got the one card , I would have sent you a virtual Christmas card. A link in a PM basically.

But you did post it before Christmas and that's better than I usually do - and it was "par avion"ed and everything. I think it just went to the bottom of the heap at Auspost. Post used to take about 7 or 8 days from UK to here when I first came out, it seems slower now. My point was that I was very appreciative of the card, not that it was late

It's piddling down with rain - after ages with no rain and stinking hot days, the last couple of days it's rained practically non-stop - I wonder if it's the wet season come earlyish again. Probably not, it's probably just rain. At the moment I'm contemplating the fact that I've just realised that both my umbrellas are in the car as well as my only jacket. I've either got to go the long way round to my car to avoid running through the muddy grass and get wetter on the head or do the short run but have muddy feet. I think on balance I'll go the longer route as I suspect one of my shoes has sprung a leak. Big decisions.

As the song goes.... I don't like Mondays

Me neither, Plums!

Mr M is in one of his hating work phases and had a rotten night last night; as a consequence I had a very bitty night's sleep and feel like poo.

Morning, everybody...

Morning all. I want to go back to bed and I can't. Plummy - you'll get at least two cards next year then

Here I am mostly freezing - the dog is snoring - and I have to go out. I'd so much rather have a duvet day.

Two cards - good lord, just the thought of that is making me go all giddy. All the preparations, where shall I put them? .... is there room for two cards? Oh golly gosh - I feel under pressure now

I have survived Monday ..... eeeep - I hope those words won't come back to bite me on my sizeable bum as I still have two hours to go til Monday is officially over. However, the troublesome aspect of Monday i.e. work is over. Now I just need to get through the rest of the week and I'll be laughing. It was a truly horrible day - not helped by the fact that my shoe does indeed have a leak and whilst I dodged the muddy grass outside the house here by going the long way round to the car, I had to cross through grass to get into YoungPlums vacation care - d'oh! Oh the best laid plans of mice and men .... et cetera et cetera et cetera.... So I squelched around at work today and then when I took my shoes and socks off when I eventually got home, my feet looked like a hobos feet... rather grimey and somewhat slimey. They didn't smell though - which is a plus. I think new shoes are moving up the list of priorities.

Hope you all manage to survive your Monday. I can't do "duvet days" anymore, I have to do "doona days" - they're not nearly so good, I would imagine - I have no idea, I haven't had a duvet/doona day for years - oh woe!!

Anyway, I'm wittering. I'll shhh now.

It could be worse, it could be a "dunny day" with norovirus.

@ "dunny day" - that's one for me to file away for future use, as an expression, hopefully not personal use

Tuesday - hmmmmmmm I don't think I much care for Tuesday this week either. I'm suffering from a BAD attitude.

Never mind, Plums.
As me@home would remind you, Wednesday is Hump Day - downhill towards the weekend from there!

Christmas lights.

I left a couple of strands of lights up for a few extra days, which were along the stairs.

A Polish guy knocked on the door, according to a tenant, and was enquiring if this was a house of ill repute.

Lights now taken down.

Ooo, if you leave Christmas decorations up past the 6th they have to stay up until next Christmas or it's bad luck. Or so my Polish mum used to say. But then she's always been a bit bonkers.

I could do that, but I'd have become a pimp. One working girl per premises is allowed apparently, legally. More than one is running a brothel.

Nice earner for me, if you can get away with it, as I'd only take a 30% cut per customer. That could mean an income of around about 33k a year from the one room (assuming £100 an hour per customer, 3 customers per night for the lady).

I wish I could sleep 'on demand'. My boys can.

On the plus side I was too tired to do anything worky today so took myself off to the hairdresser's where I had a lovely gossipy girly afternoon AND I now have swishy hair too. So no way was today a wasted day. Not. At. All.

Next you'll be telling us how many pairs of shoes you've got.

Can you tell I'm in a cheeky mood today. Well, WTF, is what I say.

Reminds me of that comedian that kept saying 'That's you, that is'.
