Non-Stop, with Liam Neeson. I wanted to like it because I quite like him - he has something of the hound about him, in a nice way - but it was a cheesy cliche.

The only really fab film I've seen recently is Her. Different, clever, funny, sad... very good.

Oh, and if anyone is thinking of going to see The Monuments Men, save your money. Even the normally fantastic Cate Blanchett is crap in it.

Home Alone. Only a microwave due to kitchen install in progress. I have a can of mushy peas and some cheese and some chilli sauce. I have drunk 2 bottles of pear cider out of my tea mug (it saves washing up and actually cleans the mug).

Where are you Pluuuumeeee ?????

Still no Plum?

KJ - I loved the tomatoes!
How did the recipe work out, dare I ask?...

I'm trying to fit in an application for a full-time Drama teacher job on top of all my other stuff... at least I don't have too much employment history to write down!

Also - a joke to share that I heard earlier today...
Did yo hear about the lemon with premature ejaculation?
He came in a Jiffy...

Well. It's two days to go.

Spoiler
I'll be 50 years old.

Maybe I should go for a swim, as I'm a Pisces.

One day to go now jra!

Lovely morning here but I don't think it's going to last... Just as well really because I need to get down to some work, and that's always harder when the sun is shining.

It'll have to be a virtual party with you peeps.

As for what I'm doing, it'll most probably involve beer consumption with some mates, either here or in London.

Tbh, I'm a bit meh about it all. 50 is supposed be thee milestone in somebody's life, but I just cannot get excited about it right now.

Tesco mushy peas (15p a can) are great with cheese! They keep you regular for sure, and are smogless.

Plans are changing all the time. I went out last night for a few beers with a mate in Luton. I think I even managed to post on DS from a smart phone using The Cloud.

www.thecloud.net

So, tonight, probably nothing.

Tomorrow might be an option, Saturday is no go, as I've got another appointment, unless I re-schedule. Sunday is possible in London, after going to a rail exhibition.

I know geek mode.

It's all spur of the moment stuff.

I got a birthday text message from my cousin in Sweden, which was a bit out of the blue. We don't really do birthdays, but we talk to each other on a regular basis.

Thank you peeps for the birthday wishes.

However, it is all tinged with sadness as my dad's (only) brother seems to be terminally ill with cancer in hospital in Switzerland, and another mate of mine is in hospital with terminal prostate cancer.

On a brighter note, I met a lady last night in one of the pubs and she was there with her sister. I made a phone to P who has got prostate cancer to wish him well and afterwards said to this lady (who was there with her sister), sorry for the disturbance (as an ice breaker).

Anyway, when her sister left to go the bathroom, I left her my telephone number. Later on, just after my mate left, I was in conversation with the two of them for a while. Nice ladies. So, time will tell if she phones me back. I haven't got her number, as the way I look at it is, if she's interested, she'll either call me or send a text. And some people on here might be pleased to know she is almost the same age as I am.
