![]() My dad phoned me yesterday (birthday wishes etc.) and one of my estranged uncles (on my mother's side) has sent me a nice birthday card to my dad's address. We were both a bit gobsmacked at this gesture, as relations between dad and I with my mother's side of the family aren't exactly very good. Time to use Google translator and send a thank you letter. |

I was waiting for a phone call, which finally came at 3am. And it's ironic because just yesterday I was saying to Batman how much better I've been sleeping of late!
![]() I'm forcing myself to be optimistic and chirpy - the weather's helping for once. About to have lunch with a lady I knew when our kids went to toddler groups together. Those were the days... she's a granny now Then I'm off to get my phone sorted out - new contract - although I sense a battle looming as I want to reduce my outgoings on the upgrade and suspect they won't want to let me

Another contact in the states is 6 hours behind. I phoned her up at midday, thinking it was 6pm, but it was 6am (duh). Luckily, she was already up (for work) and said don't worry about it. Genuine mistake. ![]() Timezones are easy to forget. Luckily, most of my foreign contacts (mainly relatives in Germany, Switzerland and Sweden) are only 1 hour ahead, just like Poland I believe? |

Fair enough. I have a mate living in California and if I want to talk to him, I have to phone at 3-4am in the morning, as they are 8 hours behind us, unless it is a weekend.

Yes, Poland's central European time, so no biggie. I'm a bit tired around the edges today but surviving, and the day is shaping up to be a fair bit less frustrating than yesterday. So nothing to grump about really, but watch this space!

Northumberland is a fantastic place ![]() Sorry about the footie scored, though - that was harsh! Belated Happy Returns, jra, sorry I missed it! Waitingvto hear about shortlisting for the job... Or not! ![]() I hate filling in application forms and working at the same time. No time for anything... Sending those vibes toward the bat cave... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>>>>>>>>>>>>> |

Definitely! I'm paying a heavy price, though, because I'm getting up at about 6am all week - which is NOT me at all as you know
- but I'm getting masses done. Hopefully all this means I'll be able to get away next week, and with a clear conscience, and without having killed anyone, which is always a plus...

Still, it does have the advantage of reminding me that my offspring aren't that bad after all...
