Plummy's in Oz.
![]() Afternoon chums. I'm going to get my excuses in early and say that my Christmas cards this year are likely to be even more chaotic than they normally are. Time's not being my friend at the moment. |

![]() A tenant of mine lost his keys last night and was banging on the door at 3am. I let him in after being woken up (well that's what I told him). He's a good guy though. I did the same thing though once when returning in the early hours, after a night out in London, before I bought this place and I had to kip outside for a few hours before getting the landlord down to let me in. Luckily it was summer at the time and nice and warm. |

Whoop evening Grumpies
![]() I've been trying to catch up and remember everything I wanted to comment on. But I forgot most of it... apart from Bats - thrilled your ma is doing OK. It was most definitely the right move ![]() And... um... jra - I prefer a nice cup of tea too! And Amica - you and I need to drink wine together... the consequences would be totes amazeballs ![]() Here, it's cold. And because it was so cold I only watched one football match. Good times

Good morning!
Can't sleep, so decided to read, and then the book turned out to be rubbish. Not the best start to the week.

Morning all
![]() Bit warmer for you all today - hope Plummie's cooled down! ![]() I can recommend 8-foot-wide south-facing windows on cold sunny days - warms the house up a treat, then you have to shut the curtains when it gets dark to keep the warm in. Had the heating on 19C and the little oil-filled radiator in the conservatory popping away on about one and a half just to keep it warmer in there so the heat doesn't escape from the sitting-room, and we're spot on... Yesterday I made a halo from tinsel and pipe-cleaners - just call me *insert Blue Peter presenter name of choice here* ![]() I bought an angel costume from Asda but the halo was rubbish and, as Her Ladyship pointed out, "keepded falling off!" Looked for tinsel in Big Tesco yesterday but they'd sold out (HOW??), and when we got home I had to dig our tinsel out of the very bottom of the cupboard under the stairs, from underneath the other two big storage boxes and all the crackers etc, to get a suitable strand of gold. Luckily we had some pipe-cleaners in out Making Things box. So she now has a new halo and strict instructions not to unwind the bloody thing ![]() Hope everyone has a decent week. ((((((huggles)))))) for anyone who needs them

Today was bloomin' hot again - I think I should probably stop telling you this as it will get tedious in the extreme and is likely to be the way of things til at least next April-ish. However, between now and then we are due the wet season and possible cyclones so I'll limit my weather report to that
.... hopefully of course without the cyclones I've had an arsebiscuits type of day. Full of grrrr and rarrrrr .... I told a colleague who may or may not be senior to me to "get f**ked" - please excuse my language it is not typical of me, so you can guess how riled I was at the time. If it wasn't for the fact that our equivalent of the DHSS or whatever they call it these days would not let me get benefits if I quit, I would have walked out today. Probably just as well I had a moment of good sense in the midst of a black cloud of grrrrrrr. I'm still a bit growly and I finished work 5 hours ago ![]() Most impressed with the blue-peteresque handiwork handy Now I'm getting all sentimental thinking about when LittlePlum was an angel at the nativity .... only she was a giant angel dwarfing everyone else and was somewhat taller even than the Christmas star who was even standing on a box DestructoPup it seems has fallen in love with a big brute of a dog that we see on our walk, when she sees him she collapses in a heap and gazes at him adoringly...... his owner is a young chap who is much amused by her carryings on. BigBruteofaDog remains aloof. jra - hope you enjoy your day of nothingness, it does you good to do nothing from time to time and enjoy your chat with your dad. Batty, if the book is pants, abandon it! I do my best not to give up on books but sometimes life is too short to waste on drivel. Collette - good luck with your essays! Amica - I want Baileys hot chocolate - I'm jealous now! SnOWy - big hugs - just cos .... but not Cos as in lettuce, not sure what lettuce hugs would be - although you do get lettuce hearts ... or am i thinking of gems? and it's only artichokes that have hearts.... and if artichokes have hearts, are other veggies heartless? Much to ponder on ![]() Time I went and had some dinner - spaghetti on toast for me tonight, I'm on the student diet but without the beer

((((((huggles)))))) for anyone who needs them ![]() Too cute. ![]() Plum - eek, you're having a bit of a time of it! And yes, I'm going to delete the book off my Kindle. It's complete pants. I must stop buying .49p efforts! Here, we've got snow on the ground. It's very pretty and not getting in the way of driving too much, so I won't complain. Well, I could, about all kinds of other stuff, but I won't. Okay, I might a bit... talked to ma this morning and after a pretty good run of conversations over the weeks, today was a bit of a disaster. She can't remember that I call her and thinks (again) that I haven't seen her in years. The boy and I are flying over in a couple of weeks so who knows what kind of a mood she'll be in when we visit. It's a long way to go to be shouted at! I spoke to a care worker too and they're having a few problems with her as ma's decided that another resident's clothes belong to her, so she refuses to change unless she manages to grab something from this other woman's wardrobe. Not the biggest problems on the planet, I know, and they've seen it all before, but I so prefer it when everything is ticking over nicely. Who doesn't! Vibes to all!

(((((plumhugs))))) - sometimes people need to hear you put your foot down.
I hope your colleague is still reeling from the shock! Your description of your Tall Little Angel made me giggle aloud - good job I'm on my own in here! batty - you can't make the tide turn. Just let stuff happen. She's well cared for and the staff can handle it. I know it sucks, but you getting in a state will change Not A Thing. ((((((bathugs)))))) On a different note, Melony's favourite expression of disgust at the moment is "This is ridicklious," said with hands on hips and a tone of deepest "ffs". Drops me every time; I get the giggles and have to go round the corner

![]() I used to hate the noise of outboard motors (my dad had a Seagull at the time), as I was on boats almost before I could walk.

It's just wet and miserable here - and it appears that the whole of Derby was snarled up this morning with a series of strategically placed accidents... I know those involved in the accidents were probably more fed up than me but was still flippin' annoying

Vibes to all! ![]() ![]() Seriously - take a hug from me with you. This is the way of things and it's why she's so much better off where she is now. On a lighter note I need to save up some zloty for my next trip as I really regret not buying that blasted set I nearly went back for ![]() Is it just me or has this year flashed past? I'm beginning to panic as I've done eff all about Christmas and keep being bugged by the in laws for lists...
