Coz you are a smashing mate.

All go... Starting a seven week placement teaching Music next week. My third school this academic year after 23 years teaching in one school... #learningcurve!
Sad to be leaving my current posting, staff and kids are lovely, but teaching English is no longer my forte.

Great idea! I've been up since just before 3am. But I'm home! Or what passes for home these days. It's where most of my clothes are anyway.

Sad - no, I don't think I did. Too much to hope for. But I think I got the important stuff crossed off the list. I need you to come with me and then we'll get everything done.

Good luck with the placement, it will no doubt be good to get back into your comfort zone with music, although I'm sure a new school will present it's own challenges, but hopefully they'll only be of the good variety!

Batty, you really need to slow down a bit or you're going to make yourself ill. Dashing hither and indeed thither is all good for a while, but it gets wearing. Look after yourself.

Sad - I remember doing that years ago (defrosting my freezer too late in the day) - it's got to be one of the most frustrating things! Thank heavens for frost free! it's liberating!

I've had a truly crappy week. Work hours are back to the bare minimum with effect from next week and the budget here is going to hit me hard with family payments being radically cut - thankfully it will be 2 years before that bit comes into affect for me though as we are already on the family payment. It still sucks big time though, as it means any dreams of moving out are just that - dreams. I'm a tad depressed, in a typically under-stated sort of way. However, good news is that YoungPlum is not the little heathen that I thought she was and got an A in religion this week.... I am liking her teacher this year, he really seems to be bringing out the best in her.

Hi peeps.

Happy birthday KJ.

Snowy. It's a very difficult time for you obviously, but you seem to be coping well considering the circumstances.

batty. You seem to be travelling a lot recently. Can you tell who is observant here.

Everybody else. Success with current endeavours.

=

I bought a weather station from Lidl for £20 recently and it's pretty well all singing and dancing. I find out the German manufacturers number from Lidl, so I ask if I can get another external/outdoor sensor. They send me one free of charge. I phone up again a while later and ask why the discrepancies in temperature between the two external/outdoor sensors, when mounted in the same place. They say 0-1 degrees is normal and we'll send you another one FOC. It arrives and it's not just another external/outdoor sensor, but a complete new unit FOC.

So, two base units and three external/outdoor sensors for £20, all working. Three year guarantee, as well. Amazing.

Another bargain for those interested in history.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's a massive book and I scooped it for £2-81 including P&P. Condition: Very good.

ETA. According to DK/Penguin on the phone, the RRP new is £35. It's also OOP, so I guess limited copies available.

Oh, I joined the local library the other day.

You're right, and right back at you - we both need a break. (((us)))

But at least today's been gorgeous and we managed to get out for a long traipse through the woods.

Afternoon!

Nothing much to report. Too much to do, too little time, but at least the sun is still shining.

Commiserations have been sent. Losing an FA Cup Final is awful, especially if it's your first and likely your last. I still get a lump in my throat at "abide with me", such a nice tradition.

One of the songs I can't sing without tearing up and going wobbly!
Re the Cup Final - the lads done us proud! They give it everything and bloody nearly took the Gunners to penalties, so while it's a bit bittersweet it's still amazing.

Cooling down a bit here, thank goodness - breeze off the sea.

Hugs all round!
