hello friends...

Tonight I have been watching my darling dog dreaming and even his weaker hind leg (and toes I think!) twitching and flailing astonishingly as he chased in his dream; I am praying hoping dreaming to myself that this is a good sign!!!

I took him out for a last 'wee' (even though his incontinence) tonight and squeezed the bladder to no avail but when i took the towel off i placed his paws flat and he supported his weight for maybe ten seconds rather than a few albeit on his stronger right leg! I changed the way I supported him on the way back in and tried to place his back feet down after every 'one two' front leg pace. So a 1,2,3 walk instead of a 1,2,3,4 pace

I'm feeling more optimistic for his recovery now after reading on another forum about something called a spinal stroke or fibrocartilaginous embolism. It causes sudden but painless paralysis and prognosis is good, although this can takes weeks or even months and full recovery isn't always achieved.
His wee is black and very stinky though from this bladder infection but no more pissing blood :| I am also hoping that his dinner isn't through him before I am up in the morning - he had loose stools for the first half of today which was challenging
Have developed boy dog nappies by using two size 6 nappies placed in a cross - one long ways and one around under the belly, over his willy and then i have a cot fleece I've cut to be 12" wide which I wrap around him and medi tape it in place. It stays all night!

Good night and I'm going to bed now really wishing hoping my wonderful boy will regain enough independence with help and a little bit of time. His appetite is good and his spirit is good too

I don't know really what to say, but I hope he makes a full recovery.

I'm still keeping everything crossed for the doggy.

My busy-ness continues. But I'm jumping on a plane in a couple of days and I'm hoping that at least one of the days I'm away will look a bit like a holiday. The weather is still looking to be boiling so I see myself and the boy sitting in an outdoor cafe, having a beer, maybe a pizza too...

Okay, back to reality. Four hours of driving ahead!

Sorry to have been AWOL - more stupid business. First week after the holidays = poo.

Anyway, hugs and kisses to grumpies.

Mal, you're an astounding woman. If your devotion and determination don't get that dog right, then nothing will. Sending you every hug and vibe.

This weekend heralds tidying and cleaning and sorting washing, but with a few trips for cake scattered about. Because they are necessary to wellbeing.
And we're going to see Maleficent tomorrow, because B and I have seen it but she wants to take her Daddy...

Guess what. I've just fallen down the stairs and nearly dislocated my left shoulder. I think I'm OK, not too much pain, but have a nasty graze on my left elbow.

Thank you snowy. I'm not in much pain, so no need to go to A&E again. As you'll probably know, I have a habit of falling down stairs. It's partly because I have small feet (size ten) for my height, so I'm never very steady on my feet at the best of times.

take care, there, jra!

Batty, it's a pretty good film, actually - quite scary and dramatic. And I don't suppose he's going to cry at the thought of 90 minutes of Angelina Jolie...

Thanks guys. The sister of my dads partner fell down the stairs and shattered her ankle, needing pins and all sorts of surgery, so I think I got off lightly. Funnily enough, it's the first time I've actually fallen down the stairs in my own house, having fallen down most other staircases. Old Street tube escalator was my piece de resistance.

Let's see my hit list.

At my dads place.
At an ex girlfriends place.
Old St tube station.
An alleyway in Pontypridd.
At a rented place in Treforest.
My place.
A flight of steps at secondary (comprehensive) school.

And those are just the ones I can remember right now.

I fell down the staircase at my secondary school too, jra really hurt my knee and now that I've got to 'that age' it plays up badly in damp weather. Stone or marble stairs as I recall...

Here, well, it's another day already. Have spent most of yesterday carting youngest's belongings home and trying to find somewhere to put them, fully aware that what I've brought back so far represents approx. 30% of what there is yet to come.... and that's just from her...
