Physio probably would help but I can't afford it after the 2 x £400 vets bills... am trying to do our own type but it's hard. He's nearly six stone! :P

He shuffled though to sit with us while I did LMs hair and kind of did a hop thing with his right leg more than once! That's great.

A belated happy birthday Plummy.

Gorgeous day here - my balcony thermometer goes up to 50 and it's maxing out already so it's going to be another hotty. And, speaking of birthdays, I've a birthday party to organise so I'd better think of some ways to stop everything, and everyone, from melting!

You could get the little horrors to fan you with their now useless copies of "Catcher in the Rye" and "Of Mice and Men", and then use same as fuel in winter.

Good to hear that snowy.

Here, the summer in the city vibe continues and we're quite enjoying it. The birthday party was as successful as I hoped - the cakes didn't melt completely and were polished off, and the presents were appreciated... if immediately forgotten. There aren't many positives to dementia but at least happy things can be experienced anew every few minutes.

I'm back!

I had the same problem snowy, and when I went to buy some cream for the bites I couldn't remember the Polish word for a mozzie, so did one of my usual lengthy explanations for what I mean, including a little mime. The baffled woman in the pharmacy eventually said 'komar' but it really didn't sound right to me, so she then did a little mime with soft buzzy noises. Someone from the back of the queue suggested 'wasp' but, obviously, waspy buzzy noises are totally different to mozzie buzzy noises.

Anyway, it was a surreal moment, and, just in case you guys ever need this information, the woman was right first time. It's 'komar'. I checked it. Little b*stards.

Edit - *waves to Amica*

One day - when I go to Poland - I'm gonna need that word... komar .

My OH went to Krakow this year and said it was gorgeous- and promised to take me there soon.

Does your bucket list get longer every day?

So tomorrow is world Gin day! and why wouldn't we partake in a tipple or two of mothers ruin?

Still working hard but not playing as hard as I would like...... Ah well the wrong side of 45 comes to us all some time...... (where has the gone?

Hopes you all are all well ? going to have a quick catch up scout see what you've been up to

Ohh found out some ancestor had been up in court every blinking month (over 300 times for the length of the records) mostly for being drunk and disorderly/ not sending the kids to school and throwing stones at the police! another lot keep being up in court with the neighbours for being naughty neighbours! thankfully I think over the years we've grown out of all that

There have been quite a few mosquitoes coming into the house here, the first time in many years. At least if they bite I won't get malaria.

Hi peppie. Thanks for the heads up. I've had a massive bottle of gin in the fridge for absolutely ages. Today's the day!

Snowy, so glad you're having a good time!

Hi, peppie!
Stick around and catch up

Hi, Amica!
You too...

Here, I am faced with The Housework Mountain and entertaining Melony at the same time; Mr M is on grass-cutting duty.
To make things worse I am Non Specifically Grumpy in a Very Big Way.

I have discovered Google Translate on my phone. You can download the languages over WiFi so you don't pay for mobile data abroad. It accepts typing, voice input and handwriting, it speaks the translation and you can copy paste into text message.

This is one of my favourite films (Enthiran). Obviously no subtitles on YouTube:

Give it three minutes.

Better than a komar on your sausage.

handy - hope you cheered up. Summer holidays are just around the corner.

Not that us bats are planning much in the way of actual holidays. Staying put for longer than 3 days is a treat at the moment.
