Hi Laura and HNY to you, too!
You must be commended for successfully holding down the GOW fort single handedly.

Thank you for my birthday wishes.
I've had a lovely couple of days - fab presents, great company, and slightly too much food. I'll have to start watching my figure now I've turned 37...

Hello Hello
YoungPlum is doing ever so well, she is way taller than me now which is slightly odd but I suppose is how my mum felt as I was taller than her. She's on summer holidays at the moment and starts at high school at the end of the month. Up until this year they didn't start high school til Grade 8 which is where YoungPlum is, but from this year Grade 7s go up to HS as well. Life isn't being too grand at the moment. Looking for a house to rent ourselves at the moment as my friend wants her house back, it's all amicable just time to move on. Trouble is renting with a single income (a not very high single income at that) puts landlords/rental agencies off. Hopefully something will be sorted soon. Work is awful and is slowly killing me both physically and mentally. However, I have no choice in the matter but have to go on .... I'm job hunting though, but unemployment is still extremely high here in the far North. We still find time to laugh though, YoungPlum has started keeping a book on all the little things that send us into hysterics but which we forget within a day or so. It makes for some bizarre reading and probably a psychologist could read a lot into it ![]() DestructoPup is mainly a big lazy lump these days although she does do mad dashes into the house running round and round hunting for something... anything... to steal to make her crime worthwhile! She is being outdone at the moment by her apprentice, a pup that my friend got lumbered with.... he has just moved into the shredding zone and he is now responsible for most canine crime - which I have to say is a great relief! I'm off to work shortly. I'm in trouble there as I finally cracked yesterday and told my supervisor to "f*** off" when she effectively accused me of lying. She just said if I do it or anything similar again, she'll write me up for it - but I have a feeling she's dobbed me in. I did apologise later, but she would appear to be ignoring me. Ho hum! The thing about the incident that troubles me is that I think I let myself down, I rarely swear as my Dad always said, swearing just shows a person's lack of vocabulary. Hope everyone here is well and happy.

Hoping you manage to get a new job and home soon. lol |

Lovely to hear from you Plummy, though I wish you had better news as far as the practical stuff in life. I'll keep everything crossed for you landing a great job. A plum job!

*Groans* But thanks for the sentiment Batty Today I didn't swear at anyone, so that must be my new definition of a good day! Tomorrow I must face my foe albeit briefly as her shift finishes at 3pm and mine starts then - in all honesty, outside of work she's a really really nice lady, just in work she has become a bit of a monster... a big bit of a monster .... the really monstrous bit DP's apprentice .... who I shall refer to as Grasshopper ... although his name is actually Max, has decided to eat a trail bike. He truly is a fine student - but how I wish he wasn't! My friend is not going to be impressed when she gets home from her holidays. I told her it was a mistake leaving me in charge - dogs are just naughty when I'm in the vicinity. If he gets any worse, I'm fairly sure that she'll send him packing with us when we go Nothing else to report, except that it rained again today - it seems the wet season has officially started as this is about the 3rd day in a row where it's rained. We've all been hoping for rain as "the dry" as they call it, was very dry .... but it seems now that "the wet" is going to be very wet ..... who'd have thunk it! They don't have a "slightly damp" season ..... nothing in moderation is the aussie way!
