And I've yet to do my tax return.

Time for a cuppa?

It's always time for a cuppa

Here we're having a beautiful thunderstorm. At least the rain is cooling it down for a little while though no doubt we'll pay the price tomorrow and it will be horribly humid again. This is my short week where I only work 3 days, it's awesome! Not quite as good as usual as they've split them up so it's Monday, Wednesday, Friday, but still, it's only a 24 hour week instead of a 48 hour one like last week and next week, so I'm not going to grumble (much!).

Went shopping with YoungPlum today, finally managed to prise her kicking and screaming out the house and you know what, it didn't kill her after all but she's glad I'm working tomorrow so she doesn't have to go out again! Miserable little hermit! Couldn't find any plain white ankle socks for school - it looks like I'm going to have to get them from the school uniform shop and pay an arm and a leg!

Nothing much else happening - went to the noodle shop for dinner so that's always good!

Bats, YoungPlum won't let me go and watch Paddington at the cinema - snot fair! I'll have to wait til it's on DVD and buy it when she's not looking.

We just had freezing cold rain all morning, and on and off through the afternoon. Brrr and yuk.
But less hassle than snow.

Hope everyone is feeling chipper this morning!

I might wait for the DVD too, and buy it when my boys aren't looking.

So, in the absence of the tax return being completed, my windows are sparkling clean and all the sofas and armchairs have had a thorough hoovering. And I'm 15p better off... Was hoping for more treasure but that's it.

So, what's next...

Ah yes, tea.

I have an unexpected day off today which is quite good as I was supposed to be working til midnight which I hate. Apparently there has been flooding on the rail lines down south of here and so we have no delivery til tomorrow, so I work tomorrow instead, standard hours so that's not bad!

On the down side it's so bloomin' hot at the moment that i'm just lazing around reading and I might watch a movie later. I did the shopping this morning so it isn't as if I've done nothing .... just not much

My friend has gone off on her travels again for 10 days so we're back to dogsitting Destructo's Apprentice - he is such a funny little dog with a curly tail and almost permanently flopped inside out ears but he's a menace!

Anyway, this is all wayyyyy too active for me, I'm off to collapse in a little heap of literary bliss! sleep well grumpies!

I feel sick. I think I've got a touch of heatstroke. It's been so very humid the last few days. I was sure I'd been drinking plenty but maybe not - boo hoo hooo! Hopefully I'll be ok in the morning as I have work to go to, even though it's a public holiday. Theoretically we're meant to have the option whether to work or not, but the reality is that we have no choice as there is a delivery so we have to work. It's not very fair, but at least it pays extra to work.

Only 2 more days til my little girly is off to high school - oh woe! She's happy today though... because I finally got her phone sorted out after the drowning incident and so she's back texting and on the web.

It's 4.30 am and I'm just about to go to work - how vile is that! Horrible day yesterday at work, hence the early start today to catch up! It's not a bad day for it to happen though, if it had to happen that is, as (a) it's my day off tomorrow and (b) it's YoungPlum's first day at school tomorrow so at least I'll get home early afternoon and have time to iron uniforms and spend some time with her rather than just nagging tonight!

Hope you all have a good evening while I'm slaving away

Australian wild life goes from extremely cute to extremely deadly with nothing much in between I'm not even venturing into the backyard at the moment as the grass is too high and there might be snakes ..... there probably aren't, but you never know and you can't see until the grass is cut - not sure which is more scary, the thought of snakes or the thought of mowing the lawn
