I still can't get my head around the time difference Plummy.
![]() I've had a day of two halves. The morning was quite productive and the afternoon was spent at the cinema. Ex Machina is a decent little film, but I spoilt it for myself by becoming convinced that there would be a certain plot twist, and then two thirds in I thought I was right but I wasn't, and I then spent the rest of it wondering if there was a double twist... but wrong again. But the outdoor scenery is fab. |

I've never heard of it either, snowy.
We're catching up with The Fall - bought the DVD. It's brilliant but really, really stressful to watch!

I'm doing stressful - I've ventured into the stinking pit of doom .... it's like the .... actually I don't know what it's like ... but it's unearthly, unsanitary, inhuman and generally just ewwwwkkkkk! I told YoungPlum this morning that I might venture in there and do something and she didn't warn me..... she didn't tell me to put on my HazMat suit ... she didn't tell me that I should let someone else know that I was going in so that they could check up on me if I didn't make it out after a few minutes - why why why?!?!? how could she be so cruel?! I mean I was a teenage slob in my day but she isn't quite teenage yet and she takes "slob" to a whole different level and to think that she's so fastidious about her appearance and clothes most of the time. An enigma.
It's her first day at High School today .... oh woe! My baby is all grown up - wahhhh! I felt worse leaving her at school today than I did on her first day at school - I know she'll be fine though and it's a lovely school. Anyway, I'm just procrastinating - time to venture back into the pit armed with cleaning materials and rubbish bag. If you don't hear from me within a day or two - contact the embassy! Btw - as it's her first day at school and I imagine she'll be all hyped up at the end of the day, I'm going to be a nice Mum and not do ranting and raging - this is my first day at school gift to her. Hope you all sleep well and have a good day tomorrow. If any of you have any hints on how to manage teenagers and rooms then do let me know - I need all the help I can get - oh woe!! |

Plummie, methinks maybe it's time to start bribing her to keep it tidy!
God knows, i was terrible (and I still am!) for mess, but I'm a firm believer in "You left it there, you bloody well pick it up!" ![]() Happy Hump Day, sweeties!

I wish it would either snow, properly, so I could have a day off, or shove off and stop it. Bleh!
And where's the Bat this week? Has she flown off again? ETA: KJ...

Hahaha ![]() handy - I'm still here. Just! I get tickets with unlimited changes to my actual flight, which is just as well, given the chaos that other people create in my life! I'm a bit grumpy akchooly. |

I'd like some snow - we're roasting here. It's not so much the heat as the humidity it's awful. But it looks lovely, blue skies, everything is green again with the rain we had last week.
I forgot to tell you about the evening before YoungPlum's first day at school. I was feeling moderately saintly and had had a rare moment of motherly goodness and had baked some mini tuna quiche for YP's school lunch. I took them out the oven (before they burnt - how good am I?!) and left them to cool. I did forget about them then but later I went back to put them in the fridge but they weren't there! So I assumed I was having one of my moments and that I must have done it and forgotten .... but they weren't in the fridge or the cupboard or anywhere else silly that I might have put them! Then I had a moment of clarity .... I remembered Destructo had broken in at one point..... and there the mystery was solved - dammit! No wonder she was quite happy to be put out again - she'd had a little feast! So late evening I had to make a second batch and be even more saintly and rather more careful!! Enjoy the snow! |

Belated Happy Birthday to young Melony - hope you all had a great day! Can't believe she's 7 already - that's an awesome age! YoungPlum was a total madcap at that age. Not that she's changed that much, she just does mood swings now but at least she recognises them and curses hormones!
I should be in bed now - it's 9.30 pm and I have another silly o'clock start tomorrow but at least I get to finish mid afternoon this way. I'm so looking forward to next weekend - I want to sleep and sleep and sleep! I bet every man and his dog in the neighbourhead decides to bark or mow the lawn early depending on preference! Batty! I've found a friend to go watch Paddington with me! Hopefully it will still be on next weekend. I was whining about YoungPlum's cruel refusal to go with me and she said she'd happily go .... and she's the same age as me near enough! |
