Thanks for all the birfadee wishes, guys!
She had a fabtabulous weekend ![]() Plum, that's awesome! Really hope you get to go! I can report that The Boxtrolls and Big Hero Six are both completely amazeballs and should not be missed; seen both this weekend! Currently keeping Mr M company as he stresses at his laptop getting stuff ready for a Work Thing on Tuesday. As ever he's in a right old flap and being a total grouch, and as ever it will all go fantastically. *sigh* At least he'll apologise for the grouching, eventually... ![]() Hugs all round, grumpies! |

I'm hot, tired and grumpy! Had this quarters power bill this morning and it was a real
moment - it's horrendously expensive over here particularly up here in the north where there is a monopoly. YoungPlum is having a whale of a time at school and seems to have made some nice new friends. She seems to be living up to her promise to herself to not be such a quiet soul at school and let her inner silly shine for all to see! I must confess to an inner shudder when she was rabbiting on about lighting matches and bunsen burners - I'm so glad I don't have to witness it and in future when she talks about science I might just mentally put my fingers in my ears and go lalalalalala! Perhaps she is less clumsy at school ..... although she did tell me about falling off her chair at school today so somehow I doubt it! I'm still trying to come to terms with the fact that they do nearly all their homework and learning using laptops ! At least at her school they are supplied by the school and parents just pay for it over a 3 year period added onto school fees. At the other local catholic school, parents have to buy one to the schools specs and it's seemingly more expensive and some kids having better than others etc.. My friend whose house we are sharing, her daugher goes to this other schoo so we get to compare notes It's probably all swings and roundabouts .... the expenses that is .... not the school ... although that would be fun but of dubious educational benefit

Where's your sense of adventure, laura?
![]() Back in his clubbing and pubbing days my brother quite often ate cold curry for breakfast, apparently it's lovely at 6am... *blurgh!* It's Friday Eve, people. Let's keep on keeping on...

Batty, that sounds like a wild night for us, too.
Laura, hope the sleep is better tonight. Manic weekend - Melony and one of her schoolfriends have birthdays 10 days apart, so Saturday was their joint party - a disco for 26 7-year-olds. Dear God!!!!!! |

I am so sick of winter! Its supposed to get really cold--minus 20s by end of the week! I know I'm supposed to be used to this climate living in Canada my whole life, but, enough is enough!!

Morning/night all
![]() I'm still alive - hallelujah praise be!! .... and I haven't gone into one of my silent phases either - I've just been quiet ... quiet contemplation of my life. Nahhhhh not really, I've just been quiet for no good reason. Probably too busy being a pain in the butt to my girly as I feel that is my job in life! She had to explain to me yesterday that calling her a "bubble-head freak" was not typical motherly behaviour ..... well no-one gave me the rule book, so what can I say? At least it made her laugh! She's still enjoying her new venture into High School, still grumbling all the while that she looks like someone from the olden days. However, I always win this argument because I just have to remind her that it's better than looking like a walking poop which is what my uniform made me look like We're having a few days of BIG rain which at least cools everyone down temporarily - when the sun eventually remembers to come out it's going to be humid as! Today is my one day off this week and so far I'm wasting it. I had been going to make a BIG pot of veggie soup but procrastination seems to be the order of the day. I would say "oh woe!" but quite frankly there is a lot to be said for procrastinating Hope all you grumpies are doing well .... and hello to Cablejockey - nice to have another visitor from the "wrong" timezone

Thanks! I guess I am out of whack with your time! But we are sure to connect at some points in the day or night!
Is this a being grumpy all the time group or just some of the time? I am only grumpy at times and for what I believe, are good reasons--lol! |

Some of the time will do!
![]() I'm grumpy right now. Knackered, grumpy, far from home, busy, and dealing with a mountain of other people's crap. I was going to be much better at saying no this year... It's not working out all that well. |

Gentle Hugs Bats
Hello Cable Jockey welcome to the mad house Plum glad you got the day off and Little Plum is enjoying her new school Not sure where everyone is no doubt busy with real life getting in the way so long as all is good and well in grumpyland. Shed is well stocked with food, drinks, blankets, dvd's and wood for the stove so all warm and cosy just remember to close the door. |

Saying no to people was something I used to have trouble with. Certain family members really know how to manipulate me! Time and distance has helped and being able to see who is calling you--and not picking up!
Hello to you all in this grumpy group!! |
