Hey Ima I was watching an advert for Tesco yesterday and they had about 12 people round the table for dinner.. I wondered what that kind of Chjristmas day would be like! But I like our quiet (usually relatively) peaceful day with an overabundance of turkey

I did the majority of grocery shopping last night at 11pm.. it was great stress free not busy at all and no huge queues for the tills!

Merry Christmas my grumpy friends

I'm still up on Santa duties as YoungPlum is having trouble going to sleep because of excitement and a very snotty nose, so I'm reluctant to go in and deposit her Xmas stocking. Her main presents are now under the tree but I need to sneak in the bits and bobs that she gets into her room which I can't do until she's conked out for the night. She got up to to go the loo a while ago, just before I was about to go see if I could be Santa, and I have a nasty feeling she saw her presents in their sock/bag thing. Perhaps she now realises I'm Santa - d'oh!

DestructoPup is also over-excited and has been woofling every so often, "woofling" is when she mutters and grumps rather than full scale barking but I still have to get up and tell her off or next thing you know she's barking and that's enough to wake the dead on several continents! She has a BIG bark!

YoungPlum got her first present this evening while we were walking the dog. There's a couple that we stop off and chat to while we're dog walking each evening, who have a beautiful big silly lump of a Newfoundland called Tiny! Anyway, as we passed today and stopped for a quick chat, they gave us a christmas card and a gift for YoungPlum, I was really touched as we hardly know them really. Some lovely people out there

Well, I'm going to have another go at being Santa and see if I can get some sleep! Hope you all have a great day when Christmas gets to the UK, I'll drop in later to see what's cooking ..... other than turkey of course! I'll probably have some culinary tales of woe .... roast dinners are not my thing!

Merry Crimble Plumster

And felicitations to the rest of you. I anticipate some drunkled posting later when we return from pre-Christmas drinkies after the Christingle service. Although I do still have to make the mince pies so there may not be much time for the internet... that said I will have to stay up until the teens are asleep as they can't see me putting the gifts in their rooms either

I do the drinkies they do the service. I'm proud of them though. Me being atheist and that, I'm still chuffed they attend church and sing and stuff instead of talking the talk without walking the walk.

Welsh blood see.

Merry Christmas everyone Hope you all have a totally awesomelly superbly magnificent sort of day!

Mine got off to a bit of a grumpy start (go figure) - due to inconsiderate teenage lads - but thankfully they were dragged off by their Nanna kicking and screaming and the rest of the day has been excellent! I narrowly avoided a culinary catastrophe but that's pretty much, "same sh*t different day" sort of occurence

Dined al fresco on the patio, just YoungPlum, DestructoPup and I even the dog had the proper roast with all the trimmings. It all went rather well and I'm now overfull and contemplating eating some more just cos I can and it's Christmas day I'm trying to be sensible, honest I am, but it's hard to fight against the pull of christmas cake even if it's not home-made! Next year I'm making my own for sure!

Anyway, I'm going to go into full-scale ramble if I don't rein myself in now and shutthehellup

Have a good one full of peace and harmony maaaaaaan

Morning! And a very merry Christmas to everyone.

We're back from our travels, Santa's been and the only thing missing is some proper weather.

Belated Happy Christmas grumpy people

We've had a lovely snuggly day, eating too much and opening presents, then playing with them!
As you can see we've stayed up a bit late, but that doesn't matter. Hugs to all!

I wanted snow!

My bestest prezzie was from the boy - a Kindle Fire. It's very fab, though I feel a bit sorry for my old Kindle. It's been a very faithful companion.

What did you get jra?

MrsKJ got a Kindle Fire. As for your old Kindle, it's the same liberation you feel when your new car gets scratched or dinged - you enjoy it more when you worry less about it being damaged. Also, ye olde Kindle is much better on battery life.

A cheque for £100 from Dad, a lovely couple of pairs of socks and a £5 Amazon gift voucher from his partner. The rest of my family live abroad, so we traditionally don't exchange presents.
