It's been quiet but nice here - kids all seemed happy with their respective hauls and we've had a lot of laughs... not least playing the TOWIE board game yesterday afternoon

Done the family thing today and not long back (was driving... booo....) so I'm just channeling a hopefully not as poorly Sad and having a JD Honey before bedtime

Some of us might know that I'm scraping through a sh*tty time right now :sleep:

Life sucks ass sometimes! Take a chance but then you get stung anyway. What can be done though? I can't stop and sink lower into a low mood!

I am praying for a house move in January - I am going to have to pay for a moving company to help - anyone have experience of this? Has anybody ever paid for packers to come in too?

we had someone pack us as well as move us....best thing we ever did.
Mal I was still astonished at the tut we brought with us that we slung within days of moving..get rid now

Hi malaikah. I've had certain things sent between destinations and IMO it pays to phone around and get a few quotes. See the Yellow Pages for example. From my experience private companies are often cheaper than the national firms.

Sorry for being MIA. For some reason can get my phone to play nicely with email and Facebook but it can't cope with DS. Probably my fault as I refuse to go down the apps route, but anyway - yep, been in bed since just after The Queen on Xmas day - horrible fluey bug, high temp, hacking cough, then just as I was thinking I might actually get shot of it all, I got the upset tummy last night.

I am only now sitting at my laptop in my very smelly p-js because I remembered I have to tax the car

So meh, Christmas could've been better but then it could've been a sight worse too, at least it all kicked in after I'd cooked dinner and not before

Had some lovely presents including a new mp3 player so am hoping to get to use that now I've surfaced.

Mal - definitley go the removal company route, there comes a point where DIY just means too much stress. Hope things are on the up.

We were gutted about their last minute equaliser, and all of us were cream crackered from stress / no sleep what with dodgy trains and a morning pitch inspection ... BUT ... we got a train, with a table, both ways direct, so kudos to East Midland Trains ... and we made it to the pubs we intended to visit.

Nottingham Forest should be ashamed. We saw half a dozen wheelchair using supporters, positioned in the p*ss*ng rain, no cover from the stand, in a sunken area relative to the pitch with their eyes about 2 feet above pitch level. I don't think it was deliberate, but we felt for them.

(((MAL)) As you know I moved from one end of country to other 3yrs ago during worst of recession so what i paid isn't relevant to you. I also got them to pack as they insured for breakages and to be honest wasn't worth it financially to let them do the furniture and not the rest.

get as many quotes and play them off against each other.......Y can do it for........can you match this figure?

Also you have to consider all the animals as even a short move is traumatic for them. I locked mine in bathroom while the packing was going on with food and toilet etc and kept checking on them
