Happy New Year my lovely grumpy friends
I hope 2013 brings only good things to you (us) all Sorry to be greedy but I want some good things too ![]() Twingle twingle my little star!! Lovely to see/read you again - perhaps I ought to do the facebook thing, it's on my list of things to ponder as I never know what's happening with anyone and I hate missing out I am fairly anti-facebook so I have some mental hurdles to overcome. Here we've been having dramas with a lunatic next door neighbour complaining about DestructoPup. I wouldn't mind if he grumbled fairly but he exaggerates beyond anything. I'm in the difficult situation though where I have to maintain peace and harmony though as it's not my house otherwise I'd tell him where to go. I let YoungPlum stay up to see in the New Year for the first time and she loved it - we even sang Auld Lang Syne to get in touch with our Scottish roots - destructoPup refused to join in, she's such an intellectual vacuum at times.

Happy New Year lovely grumpers all.
Young Sad is now 20 and I therefore only have one teenager left ![]() I have managed to get through the festive season without so much as a drop of alcohol passing my lips since Christmas eve. New year's eve drinking water... well, it's an interesting experience watching others getting sozzled but it was still fun and oddly, just after midnight, my head cleared, the tummy stopped hurting, and I now feel almost normal ![]() Rock on 2013, way to go if that's how it's started ![]() Twing - great to hear from you *dashes off to find hat* ![]() I seem to be missing loads of FB posts, not sure if it's them or me, but it also seems to be something to do with whether I look with my laptop or mobile. KJ - glad you had a good day but agree with you that Forest should be ashamed that's appalling. On that note, bed is calling me, back to almost normal tomorrow with Mr Sad back to work and only a few more days of my offspring at home Still, the evenings will start getting lighter soon

Hello, darlings, with especially big waves to omg, twing and mal
![]() But I love you all - and i'm stone cold sober! ![]() Sorry to be MIA for so long, but fambly duties have taken up a lot of my time and Mr M has been on the lappy a lot keeping the DWP happy by meeting his targets for jobhunting ( Anyhoo, here I is ![]() jra, I got lovely earrings from my little one and although Mr M and I are still awaiting delivery of gifts for each other I suspect i'll get some good DVDs and music and maybe something pretty to wear - he's good like that! I've consumed twice my own bodyweight in food, slept in till 9am as often as Melony would let me and generally had a brilliant holiday so far - and still a few days to go! Sad - glad you're on the mend, sweetie - take care! |

Hiya Peeeps
Happy New Year to you all. Crappy end to the last one (hence I have been MIA) but glad to hear you are feeling better, Sad - and Twingle's news is fab! We had a great holiday - and I'm considering another one next year at the same time - as it's great to get away from all the Christmas hassle. Next time, we'll stay there! Again - wishing you all a very Happy New Year. x |

Handy - me too with the mobile phone thing, I've been trying to step away from the laptop and can still do hotmail and Facebook whenever, but my mobile hates DS with a passion
Incidentally, am I dreaming or is a certain young lady about to turn 5? ![]() Amica - big @ the new year being pants. Hope the holiday was as fab as it looked. Very tempted to try that next year, has to be better than being in our miserable climate. Hugs. And a big hello and lots of warm hugs and vibes to the rest of you Hope the bats have settled into the new cave and that wherever you are, there's cake. Lots of cake.

Batty moved house? Why was I not informed??? eh eh eh? Or did I miss the bit where it was written about at great length
![]() Here life continues pretty much as usual, manageress has started the new year as she finished last year, a sour old crow with a face like a slapped backside. YoungPlum continues to be as entertaining as always, DestructoPup having been behaving herself with her chewing and barking has now re-entered her digging phase. She's excavating under the patio - if she's digging an escape route, she's going the wrong way! I have to remove all evidence of her building works before my lovely landlady comes home. I'm thinking I'll need to buy some more earth as she is somehow managing to make the earth disappear .... possibly "the Great Escape" styleeee, except that she doesn't wear trousers.... and then when the hole is full, stick a planter thingo on top of it to discourage her from further holes. Main trouble with that plan is I'd have to plant something in said pot and care for it which is not my strong point - it's a miracle that YoungPlum has made it to 10 Oh and one of my new year's resolutions is to Say NO to Lard again ..... my wobble quotient has increased to alarming levels and thus some negativity to all things nice is required *sighs long sufferingly* However, it must be done. I have been good for a record three days in a row now - it's a miracle I tells ya! Anyway, I'm just boring the dog to sleep outside on the patio and when she snores I can sneak into the house and hopefully she won't bark.... if she does, then I'll be back! |

![]() = On another note, I've just received a phone call from a good friend of mine, living in the states, that I've not seen for 23 years. It was good to talk to him. |

twingle - my ma's as fine as it's possible to be with Alzheimer's. She's in a rather fabulous care home in Poland now and on the whole quite enjoys her life there. It certainly didn't take her long to decide that she owns it! The boy is 6'5" and at university so life is a little quieter in the batcave (the new batcave - not sure if I posted about moving. thought I did. maybe it morphed into me moaning about Batman's wet room )

Batty, you're lovely
I had the loveliest surprise when I got home from work to find a parcel for me! woop woop! Gave me a good giggle, and was totally unexpected! I've had a very lovely day, apart from bleeding somewhat copiously all over the dairy in a very unhygienic mannner, but I got to wear a blue plaster so that was well worth it! I also made a slight tactical error in bitching about the boss whilst getting fuel to a complete stranger who turns out to be a friend of hers .... whoops!! I may be slightly more unemployed next week than I was this week - in my defence........ actually I have none but I stand by what I said whilst slightly regretting the lack of discretion My bestest friend at work left today, boo hoo hooooo - but I'm sure I'll find someone else to play with, well if I still have a job to go to - eep! Did I tell you I had got an emergency phone for YoungPlum? I had said she couldn't have one til she goes to high school, but a couple of times while she has been being looked after while I was at work I haven't been convinced that the person looking after her would stay, so I thought stuff it I'll get her an emergency phone - and she loves it! I have to phone her regularly as I'm the only one with her number and the only other contacts are adults to call in the event of emergency - I can't afford to get credit for 2 phones, so hers really is just for emergencies. Anyway, she sent me a hilarious text today - she is a chip off the old block! She's got a better phone than me too - snot fair! It was reduced by 70% plus I got work discount and it came with $10 credit so all in all it only cost about £15 in uk terms - bargainsome! I would even get one for me, but it's limited to one per customer - wahhhhhhhh - snot fair again! Well this is turning into an epic witter and I only really logged in to say thankyou! It seems that I'm suffering from verbal diarrhoea again - it's an ongoing issue But *shrugs* , suffer! I'm not going to change

Sorry to hear about your mother batgirl.
Plummy - yay, you got it! But I can't believe how long it took to get there. Nuffink much happening here this week, which is perfect, because life's getting busy again very soon. I can't remember the last time us bats got to slob out. |

Thanks jra. It's been an amazingly positive outcome in the end, though. I never thought I'd get her there (and I'm really not convinced I would've done if Sad hadn't offered to come along) and I couldn't imagine her staying, but she's in and on the whole actually enjoying it.

![]() Right you lot. Can we (ahem) get a grip and put some life back into this fine thread for 2013? I know some of us live in "the other other place". It's not the same. BG has a flaky phone. Plum shows how a thousand words are worth a zillion photos. jra has seen the light and is batting (!) for team GOW. twing has risen from the dead like a vampire (more bat themed stuff). omg must be happy 'cos I ain't heard nuffink cheeky (like asking for an 18 inch ruler for Xmas). |

Thanks KJ. If you are talking about where I think you are, I can never forgive them and will never go back..
As for the former, what a bunch of big girl's blouses, they like to dish it out, but give as good as you get, they pout, flounce, and end up deleting your sh1t because they know it's real. With you all the way. |
