Hello Dear Grumpies!
I'm surfacing for a short while but I'm still having some problems. Thanks for your thoughts and good wishes. I even tried going out on Wednesday on a hunt for shoes and clothes (nothing fits my fat ass anymore) and found a couple of dresses that I liked and fit but no shoes. Twingle: next time you come here I can show you a couple of shops that sell some very nice clothes that don't look like either your mother or a skinny teenager would be wearing. Then we ended up in Barney's Uptown (Twingle's been there with me.) We met a very interesting couple: he's Italian, she's Chinese. They met while studying for Masters degree in architecture in Germany. They're seeing a bit more of Europe before visiting friends in Milan and his family in Rome and then settling in Beijing. We spent a couple of hours chatting with them so that made it a nice day. I love meeting new people and hearing the stories they have to tell about their lives. (Unless they're psychotic or otherwise strange looking/acting.

)
But I was back to aching and paining yesterday. Today I need to pull myself together and go to the supermarket and get rid of the dust bunnies 'cause I've got a friend coming for lunch tomorrow. I may also be babysitting for my little pals upstairs tomorrow night (after they've gone to sleep hopefully) since Mama has a gig with her band (she's a singer) and Papi wants to be there, too.
Handy: so glad that the awful test yielded a favourable result. It sounds like changing your diet could be all you need to do. I've known others who were able to control it just by food. Good luck dealing with it any way you have to.
To all the insomniacs: Valerian and Hops drunk as a tea before bedtime or in a tincture will help as will bathing in lavender and marjoram essential (aromatherapy quality not perfume oil). Putting some drops of the lavender oil on your pillow (the real stiff won't stain) and a drop (neat) on each temple and the nape of your neck is something else you can try. You can do all of the above if you want/need to. You can also make a massage oil out of the lavender and marjoram and massage it on the soles of your feet when you get into bed and if you're lucky get someone to rub some into your back. HTH
Twingle: glad you tried the Epsom salts. Now you see that it has a little extra something that other salts don't have. I hope that your to continues to get better. Moving to the coast sound lovely. You must make this happen!
BG: The Poland trip really interests me. I'm up for it but have to see how my walking and energy progresses. Is the area your going to flat or hilly? The All Souls/Saints thing in the cemetery is something I'd really like to see. It's potentially do-able for me.
Laura: Keep on keepin' on. You've got good spirit.
Waves to just returned from Ireland Snowy, probably sozzled KJ somewhere in Europe, possibly internet-less Plum, producer Amica and anyone else I may have missed. (Forgive me, I'm getting old.
