Ha! That's what some people think we do - between holidays.
Talking of which, I had a little look up for the date in November. Are the lights on the day of November 1st or the night before? It's on a Sunday and so I wouldn't be able to get the 2nd off - the Monday. Does that mean I won't be able to go? Back home and it's still freezing! When is summer coming? Here, Victoria Sponge news is that it's all gone. It was a heroic effort, polishing it off in 4 days, but we did it!

Yes handy, we need sports day news!
LL - I've got a spell at home at the moment, which is just as well because I've loads to do, and the more time I spend travelling the less I have for everything else, so it constantly feels like I'm playing catch up.

Sorry for being MIA - currently the only way I can get access to the internets is by tethering my mobile to my laptop as BT have been utter shite for the last few weeks. I can do things like FB on the mobile and email is tolerable but can't cope with DS since the format changed and am not sure how much data I have left to play with. Apparently it will all be fixed in 48 hours... we're just not sure from when as they have told Mr Sad and I two totally different stories
![]() Amica - I think I have the same issue with the November trip this year I am currently meant to be delivering training that day. But they cancelled at the last minute last time so I might be tempted to do likewise so that I can come with you lot It really is awesome to see all the candles. FB friends can check out my pics (I think - it's possible my security settings have removed half my photos as I was doing some tinkering recently and may have messed some things up )

Morning!
We had summer yesterday and made the most of it. Bike rides and a hike in the woods. Autumn's arrived this morning, though. I feel like curling up on the sofa with a book and a mug of tomato soup.

Oh well, the good weather's arrived, and I've a very 'orribly-left-by-a-tenant property to get into shape. So I'll be indoors for a while.

Mr Sad flew to Alicante with his mum this morning - flightradar show his flight has landed but the airport thinks they're still on the tarmac in Luton - welcome to Spain
![]() Here I'm mostly enjoying the fact that I have the same weather this week as he does with none of the associated stress ![]() Been internetless for the best part of a week - can only do so much on my mobile. In some ways it's been quite nice. *RANT ALERT* The youngest managed to scare us witless on Sunday - had a fall while warming up for cheerleading comp, went ahead and competed anyway, then collapsed and had to be dealt with by paramedics. Ended up in A&E in a neck brace for four hours before the x-ray determined that nothing was broken. Lots of pain still but zero sympathy from the so called team mates who should have broken her fall but who have instead led a campaign to get her to remove all references to the injury from social media as 'it shows the team in a bad light'. To say that I am disappointed with the coach for being caught up in this and endorsing the viewpoint is ... an understatement. Nothing was posted to over-egg what happened as I'm sure those of you who saw them will testify (if anything we played it down as we were trying to reduce her anxiety during that four hour wait and also didn't want the younger members of the team to be aware of our concerns). Apparently it was our flippancy about it that caused anger... pure soap opera stuff this. So immature in the way it's been handled too. And not so much as text from the coach to enquire as to how she was the following day, which really rankles. Just a request to take the pictures down! She has another competition in a fortnight but the whole thing has left a very sour taste. She's dedicated and loyal to the team - we travel 120 miles round trip, twice a week, to get her to the practice sessions - and wait while she practices - so including the time spent travelling this takes up 15 hours a week. No small commitment. She's now been summoned to a meeting prior to training this week to 'sort out the differences' between her and the ringleader of this campaign. She's not in a good place emotionally and cheerleading really is her life at the moment so she's terrified she will lose her place on the squad. I'll be with her on the journey but probably not in the meeting itself (she's 21...) yet really want to stick my oar in and give them what for. It's hard being a parent innit. ![]() On that note best get to work - someone has to pay for the bloody fuel for all this

Sorry for the rant ... it really got to me, partly because it had been such a horrible time anyway.
Hope all grumpers are healthy and happy and bearing up if affected by the phenomenal heat we're getting here
