Got your message this time, Laura - thanks! And sending you all the very best hugs.

Our neighbours have four children under eight who are never allowed to go, or get taken, further than their garden and the noise over the summer is going to be horrendous. Honestly - we live in the back end of nowhere and they don't have a car - why, why, why did they move out here ??????

You have it worse than me - at least our lot seem to go places. One of them is Tesco. I was there the other day and heard some kids from a distance, clearly misbehaving, and yup, sure enough, when I got closer it was the neighbours I found heading round the corner. The two boys were pushing one another into shelves and shoppers, screaming and shouting, and dad was only a few yards behind them but totally unconcerned. I feel like printing off some information about parenting classes and pushing it through their letterbox.

Good luck with that! I don't think parenting info will make much of a diff with that father's blasé attitude towards his ids misbehaviour in the shops. I marched a few cheeky wee feckers home after they were "anti-social" around my house and garden. The only annoyance the parents had was that their beer, fags and telly watching was interrupted by me at the door not by the kids misbehaving. (They were the types who never went anywhere either.) But one family has me to thank for the first ASBO issued in my neighbourhood and they never knew it was me. They were afraid of eviction so peace broke out. That little bas*ard eventually grew up and I once heard him when he was about 17 yelling at kids running around in my garden to "fe*k away off home and stop being little shits or I'll root yous a new hole". They quickly obeyed him. How the tides had turned. Hopefully your little "problems" will cease and desist one way or the other. The parents are your real problem.

Our problem is the dog next door..

Hi peeps - back from roasting myself on the Med. It didn't matter what we wore - it was trickle down your back sauna hot. Wedding outfits are always tricky but at least I don't have to wear a suit and tie!

Not sure what is worse the kids screaming at the top of their lungs all the time, dogs being left to bark all day or the damn seagulls the air planes we can put up with cause they are on exercise but the rest just get on my nerves, gosh if we screamed like the kids do now a days we would have got the wooden spoon after parent found out there was nothing wrong, but then again when we all played out there was a least one adult supervising, sorry get off my soap box.

Hi Grumpies,

We went for a walk along the Ij and then ate outdoors at a riverside restaurant. I'm full of tapas and sangria and we brought ice cream home. Oink! oink!

It does sound very nice me@. I'm going to have to invite myself over one of these days.

Horrible weather here first thing but, as if by magic, we've got the summer back. So outdoors we go! I wish we were in the Med too, though.

All quiet here except Mr M is starting to grumble about not being able to find stuff.

All quiet here too, so it's a shame I need to be out for most of the day.

Me too - was hoping to have an office day but suddenly been called out to a school. Rather rubbing my hands with glee though as this was a school who had previously sought help elsewhere and (as I suspected and tried my diplomatic best to warn them at the time) have found that what was promised wasn't forthcoming.

I realise this makes me sound like an awful person but trust me, this is karma in action so I reserve the right to feel a teeny bit smug in this instance

It's really late/early but I'm keeping Mr M company while he finishes something off for work, so it would be a bit harsh to go to bed now...

I'm up too. Gave up trying to sleep about an hour ago. I thought I'd do some paperworky stuff but I can't concentrate so plan B is a large cuppa and some rubbish tv.

I hit they hay at about half three in the end, woke up briefly at quarter past four because Mr M can snore like a warthog, then got about another three hours after that. Not feeling too bad but am looking after a friend's children tomorrow in addition to my own so better make blooming sure I get some good quality sleep tonight!

Not that HER kids will be any problem, it will be the ridiculous showing-off from mine...

I was listening to an audiobook while you were all on here - should have come to chat lol. I am currently keeping myself awake considering a mirena coil. I am having fibroids looked at and bits snipped tomorrow and they suggested fitting one of these at the same time. Loads of bad reviews on the net but I guess not so many people post when things go well. it is supposed to help with the menopause. Decisions...

And I am really missing the sun. What happened to summer?

Can't help you with that one, Amica, my consultant just hauled the lot out!

Is it a hormone implant?
