Good morning Grumpies!
It's Thursday, isn't it?

I'm so confused these days with Mr. Home's days off . Now he's off on Wednesdays and Saturdays. It's not going well.
Yesterday we spent hours working on the garden. I'd like to have at least one week of the summer garden in it's full glory before autumn sets in and the leaves turn and fall. Between my shoulder problem and my neighbour shouting "**** you" continuously when I was out there things didn't go to plan. Mr. Home also cleaned up the garbage from the neighbour's garden and was coughing, choking and retching while doing it. He had to fight his way through over 2 meter high overgrowth to get in there. He deserves some sort of award for doing it and the smell level back there had gone down drastically.
My veggies had better hurry up and finish growing since on Monday scaffolding is going up around our house for a major facelift. I've planted the veggies too close to the building and I don't see any possibility of salvation for them .

We've also got to clear off the balconies but I don't know where the stuff will go. The work is going to last until the end of November and the hallways will also be painted. We've all got lots of pictures/paintings , plants and shelves out there so our apartments are going to be quite cramped for a while. On the positive side, we won't have to be embarrassed about the shabby look of our building compared to the others on the street. (Those of you who have been to my house know what I'm talking about.)
Laura: Sorry to hear about your leak.

I hope that you're able to get it sorted without too much hassle and money. There are crooks like that who break something while appearing to fix something else. Why are they usually plumbers?
BG and SP: You two are so busy it makes my head spin.

I don't know where you get the energy from to live those hectic lives of yours. Just make sure that you save a bit of yourselves to enjoy your retirement years. I'm noticing this trend among my friends who have retired over the past few years. Many of the ones who worked entirely too hard have suffered major health crises within a year or so of retiring. Some of them (including a first cousin) are no longer with us and all we can do is sadly remember how hard they worked before retiring and the big plans they had but will never fulfil.
Well, back to Thursday. It's supposed to be day 2 of my weekend but Mr. Home has gone to work and it's business as usual. Business for me is just pottering around and drinking coffee, watching Jeremy Kyle and then deciding what to do with my day. Planning dinner can be very stressful, so stressful in fact that I sometimes don't have the energy to actually cook it after going out to market to buy the ingredients.
