It hasn't stopped raining here... we're getting a monsoon tomorrow I understand. Little Saddette walked from work to my work today in a downpour and arrived quite literally soaked through (no coat, just a thin hoodie and her work uniform) with her hair dripping. I understand a similar cloudburst is forecast for the same time tomorrow. Wonder if this time she'll take an umbrella...

I'd probably have more sympathy if she hadn't just filled the laundry basked twice over with the contents of her bedroom floor.

*sigh* Hump day tomorrow. I'm soooooo tired this week. Hugs, lovely grumpers, we need more hugs. And wine. And chocolate.

Inspired by your post Sad, I'm having some chocolate right now (Lindt dark with orange ). I'll start on the wine after 6pm.

I've just eaten an entire packet of M&S shortbread eton mess flavour biscuits. I blame my friend who brought them over today, obviously. If she had only had the decency to take them away with her....

It's Friday!!!

What a week. But I got loads done.

One funny - a useless company I've been dealing with for a while surpassed itself with an email yesterday about something I'd already dealt with anyway (I had to, after they cocked up again). In a stern tone, they informed that if I didn't respond by the 22nd of July 2015 they would yadda, yadda, yadda...

I emailed back saying that as I don't have a time machine, I would not be meeting their deadline.

So far, no response.

Watched the entire last series of Downton Abbey yesterday (having missed it as it was broadcast, got the DVD set for Christmas last year, and not yet had the chance...) - ready for this evening now

I simultaneously ironed (yes, me, ironing, I know, does not compute) and then decluttered a box of paperwork while jumping up every hour or so to empty the washing machine and put another load on.

Today I have dodged the cheerleading run and am wondering how best to put the next peaceful ten hours or so to good use. The garden is calling but the housework is screaming. What to do, what to do... *procrastinates*

I too have ironed to the bottom of the basket between reloading the washer and dryer. And painting the kitchen purple wall again. And messing up the edges .

Where did the weekend go already?

And I am already fed up of the rugby.

I made the fatal mistake of attempting to locate the carpet in my youngest's bedroom. I need a lie down in a darkened room....

That'll teach you Sad!!

Morning grumpies.

Yesterday turned out to be more 'worky' than I'd intended. I sat down in front of the laptop mid afternoon and suddenly it was evening. But I got LOADS done. Just two more large pieces of paperwork left, and then I'm off... with not a care in the world... Well, that's the plan.

This week is going really slowly. Which is great actually. I've managed to fit in a trip to the hairdressers and I might even squeeze in a lunch out.

Wake up my darling grumpies! The sun is shining and it's a day closer to the weekend!!

My Big News here is that we had either a sparrow hawk or a peregrine falcon in the garden first thing. It was only a meter or so away from the bedroom window. Absolutely gorgeous.

The flip side is that there's also a pile of grey feathers on the lawn so it's had some kind of a pigeon for breakfast, and I've been seeing similar stuff more and more frequently, so it's probably figured out that our garden is very popular with birds. I like feeding them and we get all sorts, including a very frequent woodpecker which just loves those fat balls with bits in them.

But my biggest worry is the squirrels. That bird of prey was quite large and I'd be heartbroken if it took one of the fluffers. They're almost tame now and come and knock on the window most mornings, so I've got a massive soft spot for them.

So lovely as it was, I'd rather it stayed away.

Has it got a squirrel in it's mouth?

Nature can be pretty harsh at times ...

I really, really want to hit the wine tonight but I have a meeting in the morning. Pants.

Not long till the weekend, Sad.

I prefer squirrels to birds. I also worry that birds are going to fly into me and impale me with their beak and then be stuck out cartoon like.

I have to work on Saturday this week. I will be majorly grumping about that both on and off the thread.

BB final tonight...

No squirrel that time Sad, just a very graceful fly-over.

But she's been back again. Yup, she's a she - a peregrine girl. The killer in our midst. She's had another pigeon tonight and we managed to film her just after the kill.

Half of me wants to supply her with a chicken once a week, half of me wants to let nature take its course.

Just leave my squirrels alone you... you bird, you!!!

Amica - weekend working is major pants, so I you have my sympathy.
