well my week hasnt started very well, my dad died at 3 am ..a merciful release as he had dementia
have nearly got my travel plans sorted
bit unreal
fed up with death
Oh Snowy. Just know that our vibes are winging their way across with you. It's a merciful release for him alright but an absolute crap thing for those left behind when it's sudden like this and it's not as though you need me to tell you of all people that... I know they say what doesn't kill us makes us stronger but on that basis, my love, you'll be an ox.

Big hugs. Huge hugs. xxxx

Oh snOwy.

I know what you mean about the merciful release but it doesn't make it much easier for those left behind. Oodles of love heading your way. (((snOwy)))

I'm so very sorry, Snowy

I've spent a few days in Somerset as we laid my mum's ashes to rest with my dad's today. It's a very odd, very final feeling, the end of an era

Sadly you've had more than your fair share of grief Mine still hits me at the oddest times, a song, a smell, a photo. Thinking of you lovely, and sending loads of love xxx

Thinking of you snowy. (((snowy)))

Not much to report from here. I thought that by getting so much done before going away I'd come back to a nice bit of calm but nope, more mountains of paperwork await. But I think I'm getting slightly better at getting things done promptly. The penny's finally dropped that thinking about it is less productive than just getting on with it.

Ahhh snowy - I'm so sorry to read about your loss. No matter how merciful a release it is - it's still hard - he was your dad. Even now, I have moments where I just think, I want my Dad - he was always able to see a way to fix things, to make things right. Even if it was just with him sitting in a corner in the midst of a smoke cloud, puffing on his pipe and talking, it made things seem better, and somehow when things seemed better, they got better.

I hope it all goes as well as it can - and you're in my thoughts - you're a lovely lady and you've had a lot to bear in recent times. You're surrounded even here by people that care about you though and we all are sending love and hugs and stuff.

Hello Grumpies!

It's been a sad time here lately. Snowy and Gill, I'm sorry for your losses and I understand how you feel. It was 10 years ago yesterday that my father died. My son followed him 4 months later and it still hurts deeply every day although I can laugh, sing and have fun now. Every once in a while I'll hear one of my son's favourite songs or am reminded of him in some other way and it's like my heart is freshly broken again. I hope that death takes a long step back from GOW land for a long, long while.

It's been a tough old time here but the end is in sight. I was told that the scaffolding is coming down tomorrow or Monday. I can't bear to see to the true devastation of the front of the garden so Mr. Home has been picking the tomatoes for me. He said I can forget about the peppers and courgettes though. Everyone in the building has been depressed but my SAD light bulbs have helped me quite a bit. I've got them set up in every corner of every room and it looks like the place is lit up for a photo shoot. My gardenia plant is still flowering under one of the lights so that's a plus, too.

I finally got a permit to travel to just about any country in the world now with my medical cannabis. Yay! That opens things up for me quite a bit since travelling can be very painful and then not having pain relief with me is awful and has ruined a few trips over the past few years. I'm going to London to stay with my son for Christmas so I'll see just how it all works at the airports.

That's it from me for now. Hugs all around. ((((GOW))))

Sad times snowy.

me@ - glad it's almost over for you. Let us know if the result was worth it.

Here, I feel like turning my phone off and ignoring emails. Too much to do, and most of it is the result of other people f*cking up or simply not doing their jobs.

So I'm going to take the bike out for an hour to see if my mood improves any.

If not, I'm going shopping.

Likewise.

Did somebody mention cake.

Had some Polish cake the other day. Delicious. There's a shop nearby with a fresh cake counter.

Polish food IMO is very similar to German cuisine and anybody who knows my family history will understand why I like that type of food.

I can think of at least half a dozen places selling German and/or Polish foods within a mile of where I live.

Off to sunny Camden this afternoon to see a show - not my usual Sunday afternoon activity but it will make a very pleasant change not to be sitting in a car park in Harlow for eight hours - Mr Sad has that pleasure this week.

Enjoy the lovely weather where you have it - expect we'll be back to the grotty stuff soon enough

Prosecco, Snowbes? What a grand idea
