My nephew is half way through his second year as is the son of a friend. Both have said that they will finish the course but won't do the job.

Wish I could be more positive about something I love but is no longer a viable option for a sane person. I know that the current crap emanating is unworkable and will be scrapped before long. But not until teachers have been blamed for its failure.

Will get off my soapbox now. I need a lie down. I am seriously struggling with what to do though. It's a nag at the back of my mind like a task I still need to do. I can't fix it...

That's so sad. It sounds like you've lost all hope of things getting better. (((Amica)))

Cream crackered. Emergency trip to Prague the last 2-3 days. Czech peeps are growing on me, my taxi driver started talking about "parking zones" and I'm thinking he's going to put car park fees on the fare ... We listened to Iron Maiden ... he was cool till the fare where he took the p*ss a bit but he knew it was business.

I don't do TripAdvisor but here's the hotel, not bad, ignore the casino, KJ isn't a playboy.

It's a very long time since I was last in a casino, but I remember it well. My first husband () and I went away for a long weekend and on the first night decided to have a bit of a gamble. He had, in fact, been a semi professional gambler before I met him. So, off we went, and he immediately lost a few quid and I won a small fortune so I called off the rest of the gambling and we had a very fab break, all paid for by the roulette table.

I'm resisting going back because I know they'll have it all back off me.

Mental image shift - the weekend here and now's mostly been about hiking in the mud and rain. It's been really good actually. Second husband working out very well.

Well, I've managed to half resolve one issue.

But I did have a fab bike ride too.

So I'm going to say the day's been productive enough.

Hello my grumpy pals

I'm still alive. Not much been happening - still getting picked on at work, still too wimpish to try and get it sorted. Every day I put a smile on my face though and think it's a new day, things will be better - not working out so well at the moment, but it's a plan and I'm sticking to it! for now, anyway.

In other news, we have kittens .... did I tell you that already? I've forgotten. Anyway, can't keep them as Destructo wants to eat them. Have tried being patient but living in a warzone and trying to keep the two factions apart is getting all too much. It's like a puzzle as we manoeuvre them around so they both get play-time and space separately. All attempts at meeting have been scary and involve hissing, spitting, growling, scratching and biting .... and that's just me - the animals are no better!

The kittens are so cute though ... one is a cream and grey fluff ball called Tonks and the other is dark grey stripey and called Luna. I'm hoping we can rehome them together as they are so close but I doubt we/they will be that lucky. I've tried not to get too attached to them as I knew early days that it was unlikely we could keep them, but i thought we should persist as people kept saying it will get better, it just isn't. I couldn't have Destructo having KittyKiev for dinner on my conscience.

We've had a real heatwave here the last couple of weeks - hot at 37/38c in the day and horribly humid on top of that - i thought i was melting! Luckily it's cooled down a bit now and we've got rain today. Best thing though is that the nights are cooling down a bit, just 21/22c overnight which is a lot more comfortable.

YoungPlum is good - not doing homework as per usual - her room is a shit-tip - but she makes me laugh every day so life is good She's happy this week as the teachers are striking so she has the day off on Thursday - she LOVES industrial action! and is totally supporting the teachers - I think her motives aren't sound though

Hello Plum lovely to see you, sorry to hear about kitties but Destropup has ruled the roost too long, sorry things aren't settling at work no chance of anything different? Young plum sounds a typical teenager but least she makes you laugh so all good.

Been quiet in here everyone busy, stressed, travelling and every day life we will all get together again soon. Collette has became a Grandma a beautiful granddaughter so the circle of life continues no sign of the rest of us becoming grandparents but you never know.

Hope everything settles for you with work and life in general its been lovely to see you.

Plummy!

I don't know how you cope.

Me, I'm far from the batcave, knackered, and having a mad fantasy about eating my own weight in chocolate.
