49 working days to go till I become unemployed - since we are doing countdowns. Looking forward to it but I am not happy about being poor . There will be an opportunity somewhere with my name on it.

Well my very long weekend hasn't quite gone to plan! but since when do any of my plans go to plan? This is why I always have back up plans and when they fail I then fly by the seat of my proverbial pants
Had a phone call this morning asking if I'd come to work as there is so much to be done that a small team were in to try to blast through as much as they can. They even said to bring YoungPlum in with me as she could do some tidying up and they'd give her a gift voucher. It was quite enjoyable really in some ways, I like it when the store is empty and we did get a shed load done and the boss bought everyone a Maccas for lunch - I haven't had one for a year or so - so that made a pleasant change. YoungPlum is totally knackered and I think understands a bit more now why I'm tired when I get home from work - so it was an eye-opener for her! On the plus side for her, another of my colleagues brought her daughter in too and they used to be in the same class at primary school, so whilst not best buddies they are friends, and so were able to keep each other entertained while they worked. All in all it was a good day - some brownie points earned for me (I was an imp at Brownies dontcha know .... i wanted to be an elf ... *sighs* ) and some extra money. I have a couple of big bills looming and no prospect of saving the money in advance of them coming - this will help a bit at least. Hope everyone else is having a good weekend - keeping my fingers crossed for you Amica that something turns up workwise, if not let's hope the Universe has deep pockets as I'm somewhat hoping that the Universe is going to help me out too

I've been lazy today. Apart from the school run twice, a bit of food shopping and one load of washing, I've slobbed around all day. I tried to motivate myself to sweep and mop but failed dismally, somehow sitting reading appealed more! Six days straight to work now from tomorrow - and oh joy, it's my weekend working for our Mother's Day so I'll barely see my girl - oh well it's quality not quantity that counts, I'm sure we'll find some mischief to get into!

I'm sure you will Plum!
![]() Amica - keep counting!! I've been in front of my laptop since just after 7am. Thought I'd get everything done by lunchtime then head off for a nice long swim... So, it's almost that time, I've still loads to do... so the decision now is put off stuff until tomorrow and push off to do what I want, or stay glued to my seat and clear the decks? Hmmm... |

Swim...
Forgot to tell you. I was having a photo taken at the weekend with a man who has been on tv. I thanked him and he said it was a pleasure to have his photo taken with a gorgeous woman. You might think that I would be happy/flattered. I might have if it hadn't been for the fact that he is blind - so I just laughed and said, " How would you know?" That's as good as it gets at my age I think! |

I did swim, and had the pool to myself for almost an hour, so I was a very happy batty yesterday, eventually. Less happy today as the gym is getting a refit and it's a bit of a dog's dinner as the work is now being carried out where all the equipment usually lives... On the other hand if this was the extent of the crap I'm dealing with currently I'd be delighted.
![]() Amica - I don't know how he knew but you are beautiful, and I'm not just saying that because you're a mate. LL - loads of vibes, and they'll continue until I hear that you're back home (on Saturday?). Here, we've had an early supper and my tofu curry was even odder than the first time I had it (it tasted like a cooked loofah). We ate out btw. My cooking is a tad better than that. And before anyone asks, I only had it again because I was curious...

Hope it went well , LL.
TFI Friday. Although work is being inspected next week. Crappy timing since I only have nine weeks left to do. That's at least one day of weekend sunshine lost. Meh! |
