Hi CP. I like the idea of clifftop runs! I used to run, but then stopped for quite some time and I dread the idea of having a go now because I suspect my fitness levels aren't what they were. And I don't want to find out for sure. On the other hand I did about 20 miles on my bike today, which was fab.

Beyond that, not much to report from the batcave, which is just as I like it.

Independence Day!!! I mean the film, not casting a prediction for the referendum results.

Jeff Goldbum looks spookily young, but not in a 'has had lots of work done' way. Good bones I reckon. Anyway, so far that's all I've managed to focus on when I've seen the trailers.

So the plan is to go and watch the film, vote, then not spend the rest of the day watching the tv to see how the exit polls are doing.

I'm knackered but had a fab time at ELO. That said I think Manchester might be too much of a stretch for concerts in future, at least need an overnight stay

So today - taking the eldest to an appointment then coming home, having dinner, voting, taking her to a social club and meeting a mate for a quick drink before... staying up as long as I can bear it to hear the results. We're a divided household, so divorce may be on the cards if his lot win.

G'day all

It's midnight here and I'm just home from work. I thought about going to bed but the demento twins sound like they are using a battering ram on the laundry room door. I have no idea what they are doing but it involves bashing loudly against the door so no real prospect of sleep with that racket going on!

YoungPlum is on her school holidays for a couple of weeks, so she is happy. and I've got a 3 day weekend because they stuffed up my roster last week and to put it right had to move my day off to today - they hate letting us have 3 day weekends, the miserable gits, so the Plum house is happy! She's got plans to meet up with a friend from when they were at primary school together this weekend, and the bonus is that we get to see their boxer pups! We always seem to time our catch up sessions with when there are new arrivals - it's not on purpose it just seems to work out that way. Fortunately there is no risk of us coming away with another lunatic for our asylum as they sell for nearly $2000 - they're champions in the making.

Other plans for the weekend are cleaning (oh joy!), mowing the lawn possibly (oh bliss!) and unpacking stuff that we didn't unpack a year ago (oh rapture!) - you can't say I don't know how to enjoy my days off - it's all about the rock and roll lifestyle! In addition to all that (most of which won't get done obviously! never forget the ways of the procrastinator!) we're going to look at couches. We won't be buying one yet - just looking at them, sitting on them and discussing which we would get were we foolish enough to waste money on something that Destructo will make stink and the Dementos (sounds like toilet cleaner) will shred. Then we'll sigh loudly and come home and sit on our garden chairs

Winter is well and truly here now and it's just lovely - daytime temps between mid to high 20s and overnight between 17 and 20 ish - definitely my favourite time of year.

Just realised I forgot to post this .... I must be more tired than I thought! Time for me to go to bed - it's so nice knowing that i don't have to be woken up by an alarm for 3 days! Hope everyone has a great day and survives the referendum coverage! I've only seen/read bits and pieces about it so no idea how close it's likely to be.

A strange chap is Jeff Goldblum. Not knocking him as an actor, mind. But I read the review for Independence Day II in The Grauniad and he was quoted as saying "I'm one of those yogis who wanders the Earth with a diaper and a loin cloth, a bowl and a spoon. I like not to be attached to anything."

Try getting attached to reality, Jeff.

I'm rubbish at throwing out stuff too. I will keep anything that has the slightest emotional attachment. Well, except perhaps for the dress I had to wear as a bridesmaid for my sister. It was a horrible, gopping lilac thing and I hated it with a passion.

But things I do still have include my full set of Nat West savings pigs (probably worth a few bob now) and the entire Roland Rat soft toys collection (from the 80's). I have the collar my pet dog used to wear (emotional attachment. I couldn't ever throw that away) and the ticket stub from when me and OH went to see P!nk (it was the first gig we went to together),.... oh.... and loads of other stuff that any sane person would just bin.

Is there something I can take for this?

Had an uppy downy week with this referendum. Could not make up my mind as I could see reasons for each. In the end, I can only say that Sad wouldn't divorce me - but I am still unsure... Too late now it's all over and what will be..

I am counting the days till unemployment. I can't wait to leave - boy do I have some stories for you when we next do cake - but I am worried about the future. I know it's the right decision but principles don't pay the bills. Eek! Maybe I can come visit in Oz as most of our money goes on heating.

Making me feel like cr@p thought i would be bouncing off the wall due to start new treatment hopefully soon the specialists only got the blood results back yesterday but hoping the district nurses can do the ivs can't manage to get to hospital but we will cross that bridge when we get there.
You have done the right thing in giving up work something else will be around the corner but one door must close first but can understand you worrying gentle hugs

Cake sounds so much better that the say no to lard campaign although with me being a coeliac i have extra lard in my cakes to make them taste like normal cakes unfortunately Betty's don't do gluten free sob sob sob

Jeff is an odd one CP. Strangely charismatic but I wouldn't... The film, well, imagine you're making a pizza and you put on some extra cheese, then a bit more extra cheese, and then you eat it and think yup, that's too much cheese. That's Independence Day - extra, extra cheese.

Anyway, bloody hell, we're OUT. I was a flip flopper, but thought we'd stay in... The first thing I need to do is start sorting out a Polish passport. I've only recently learnt that the Poles don't recognize dual nationality and presenting a 'foreign' identity document in Poland is illegal and can result in arrest and prison. Ooops. I wasn't so worried while we were all Europeans, but going forward I'm not taking any chances! The funny thing is that they take this either 2 or 3 generations back, so anyone with a Polish parent or grandparent is also viewed by them as totally Polish and the same rules apply, so my boy needs to sort himself out too. Silly old Poles.

Well I didn't manage to get anything useful done today ... I slept til 11am and mainly felt sleepy all day. I did watch the results come in on the referendum - I must confess I was a ditherer, there wasn't much coverage of it over here. We've got our own elections going on at the moment and I couldn't make up my mind whether it was a GOOD thing or a BAD thing. But it's happenng (apparently) so we'll see how it all unfolds.

I am unspeakably angry about the EU referendum. The Leave campaign just went for the "easy option" angle and got everybody worked up about immigration; now we're looking at the possiblility of Boris Bloody Johnson for PM and Farage's smug cheesy face grinning all over the media. Tossers.

I'm so cross I've spent the whole day eating crap and ruined my diet resolutions. pooh to the lot of it.

Summer cake date definitely got to be on the cards. God knows I need cheering up today!

Mr Sad (Brexiter - *spit* ) has been strangely subdued all day. Maybe he's realised he's backed the wrong horse, or maybe he's realised he's alienated his entire household.

Time will tell - there's no going back, is there, so we just have to live with it and move forward. Those of us employed by charities who get EU funding are probably looking for new jobs imminently of course... but hey, with all the immigrants leaving our shores that won't be a problem, right?

It's Friday. May as well watch the Big Brother car crash .... can't drink as I'm being a taxi tonight but tomorrow I will be making up for that by drinking all day

Woah - it's grumpy in here today and understandably so!

Is there no chance of a turnaround? I thought there was some suggestion that as long as article whatever it is wasn't invoked and if a general election was called that there could be some leeway from undoing what hasn't actually been done yet if the country start to realise the implications of what they have voted for. I find it somewhat alarming that a real almost 50/50 split of the vote could see such a major change taken forward. With so many of the other European countries also now whining about the EU - is there no possibility that a radical overhaul of the system could see Britain remaining part of it? I don't know, i'm just asking - i'm ashamed to say that I've taken no real part in the debate. I also confess to being a bit of a political ****wit and generally stay out of discussions on the subject.

On the slightly less important issue of the "Say NO to LARD" campaign - I've had a couple of weeks off and been saying "Bring it on - give the LARD to me NOW!" - fortunately this hasn't so far had detrimental results but I think my luck won't hold, so from Monday I'm back to being saintly. A few more kgs need to be wobbled off, so even if I were invited to Grumpy Gateau Gorging day, I wouldn't come as me eating my lettuce leaf might put you off

It's now Day 2 of my 3 day weekend and so far nothing useful has been done - i've done the necessary stuff to ensure we survive and that's about it. Today I hope to do something useful but as I didn't get up til nearly 11am I think the chances of success are not high - I feel another lazy day ahead of watching movies, playing the xbox and possibly going out to buy something easy to cook for dinner. I'm trying to feel guilty about this, but so far it's not working and I suspect I have a big happy smile on my face :
